I remember that a lot of people were confused as to why Kal-El left and then returned way later on at the end of the movie. The reason he left is because he was learning what other powers he had and how to use/control them. Remember, this version of Clark was taken by the government and was locked in a red sun prison all his life so he had no idea the powers he possessed. When he kills the guards earlier with his heat vision he looks shocked and almost horrified because he didn’t know he was capable of that and for a moment was not able to control it and almost hurt his friends. So he leaves to learn how to control all his abilities and returns once he had mastered them. Unfortunately he was too late and when he returned and mostly everyone had already died including the only person who ever showed him kindness, Cyborg, who he was unable to save in time.
@NobilisJunii035 ай бұрын
I agree with most of what you said concerning his bond with cyborg but I think its deeper than that, I believe in those moments of gaining his powers as we know them after leaving the red sun projecting thing, him with his alien or super powered intellect immediately began to absorb the information being presented to him by cyborg, batman and flash, each one representing certain mindsets on power and innocence in relation of the human race and then in those short moments of exposure he began to experience for himself the reasons behind the undertakings other people make on reality and so it makes sense why he would choose to leave earth to possible seek understanding and clarity, in the end I like to believe he choose to be a hero out of understanding in contrast to cyborgs insightful faith so it's like a switch of comforting and giving at the end with him and cyborg. Thats my take on it, hopefully I added to your already great observations of this scene.
@NobilisJunii035 ай бұрын
I feel like everyone can relate realistically to Cyborg with the term Insightful Faith I used in my previous comment, I think most people are like that initially and in innocence but then like Batman when it comes to encountering the grim reality of the world we “harden” up and compromise on the prior heroic principles we once held on to with high aspirations but Superman on the other hand is something else… Beyond is the best word I can describe it in, which is why Im convinced the soldiers began firing at him instead of flash or cyborg because either they or their commanders understood this level of power and were afraid of its potentiality. I think this version of him captures that essence without plastering it through typical hero cliches.
