Pretty sure the Flash TV series also had the exact same ridiculous approach to 'fastest man alive' - have him run up to someone, stop, and try and talk to them. They should just make it his canon weakness at this point, like kryptonite.

You have super speed you can walk into a room and check the entire situation and disarm it without even having to harm the other person. Imagine a flash with a rope that just binds people before talking to them. There are probably an endless amount of ways to deal with enemies that do not involve killing. So... yeah... the Flash is stupid.

@@CarlolucaS I mean he has to do this everyday maybe he likes taking it easy so it doesn’t get boring or he takes his job way to easy and doesn’t want to crush peoples hopes and let’s them do stuff cause he is a nice guy or the writers wanted him to look like he isn’t invincible and so makes scenes like in the injustice league movie where flash gets trapped and thrown in joker gas and a saw hit his direction and kills him like seriously he could have easily dodged that

In "Crisis On Two Earths", the Earth that got destroyed in the end was uninhabited - how did they know it is another question, but we can't say they couldn't possibly. More importantly, it's the life of the multiverse what's at stake. If they won't let Johnny Quick kill himself by helping, or if they won't teleport the bomb to that other dimension - that dimension and that Johnny are gonna die anyway just as the whole multiverse.

I dont think Batmans a nepotist. I think he makes judgement reads on people and hires them if they are principled people as opposed to just “his friends”. At heart he’s a private investigator and sees the world in that lens. I actually think he is only one who sees the inevitable corruption of the Justice League coming as he is the first to leave it in multiple movies and sees the Justice League as more of a check for himself.

He funds the JL and hires his traumatized and indoctrinated child into a vigilante institution. Sure, he leaves... after building the organization he helped make instead of trying to fix his own shit. If at all Bats sees the JL as a check on Superman rather than himself.

I get what he’s saying to a degree about the highering process but at the same time who else are they gonna trust I mean at least in the context of the ones related to the founders. Yeah that’s family and the fact of the matter is often times family will watch out for family. Red hood I’d say is better to keep close then let him run wild and Batman still believes he can change shown in many different other continuities. I think just using a specific instance in one continuity isn’t really the most objective look. But that’s how I feel .

On regards to secret Identities when it comes to both good and evil version it's main untold reason is that the hero has a way out or an alter ego they can take on any time to get a break from everything. When it comes to why the good versions keep it; Batman has alfred + any Wayne enterprise employee that can be used against him (Wayne employees work help fund batman), Diana has no alter ego ,until she invented one in that Cafe scene, and that one doesn't have any legal backing it's existence it to be viable (it's just a pair of glasses). In regards to why they don't keep their loved ones in a secure facility, it's probably cause that they wouldn't like the isolation that is necessary to keep them safe. It's like how we were forced to stay inside our home during COVID but here COVID never ends. On regards to PTSD (young justice tackles this issue) however given how dangerous that the DC world is I'm not surprised if everyone has some form of PTSD. When it comes to raven having the crystal on her is the best possible solution (as far as I can tell) because if it's kept anywhere else , given cartoon logic, her dad will get free. I think the gem also gives her extra/amps her powers so the mental torture isn't for nothing. On regards to superman being the leader, it's either because he's the most deadly one in the league or people place their trust in his moral judgement. The latter was why in the injustice universe a lot of hero went with his regime. On regards to being a military power without oversight, I mainly blame this on the writers inability to explore the topic. Since DC goes for more fantastical stuff such concepts like oversight would be seen as a hindrance to the writers.
@CarlolucaS
@CarlolucaS Жыл бұрын
I think the limitation of the "military power without oversight" could offer a lot of potential for good storytelling. There is so much conflict in there to be explored.

There's so many versions of canon that these criticisms both land and don't land. For instance, in one comic run, Lex Luthor was Metropolis's first hero before his rivalry with Superman. Adam West Batman's Batman persona is a fully deputized agent of the law, as well as some versions of Captain Atom, etc. The comic that the Doom protocol is sourced from was originally intended to show how that version of Batman was in the wrong and exactly what he specifically was lacking and missing. Superman is often more of a Super-firefighter than a supersoldier, fighting natural and unnatural disasters on almost even footing and will prioritize saving just one single normal child over whatever the war that is going on. (and his bazillion types of vision are used to explain the knowing that there's not someone about to die on the other side of the wall, but I do agree that most writers/illustrators are wayyyy too eager to show mass destruction that they tend to forget that the entire reason heroes are needed is to SAVE PEOPLE). At any rate, I did enjoy the video. Keep up the good work!

"Hey kid you are done now. Go home." Still questionable to a certain extent because, you know? Peter is fucking kid but by leagues (yes, that's a pun) better than what the JL does. As a start to my comment which i will update as i watch, batman sent owlman to an Uninhabitable frozen earth, which had 0 population. It was not a world with people, it was not a world with the possibility of life. And the point about not vetting members of the justice league like as if it was a job. When have they ever actually done that in most of the example? In the animated universe the justice league was created by a bunch of heroes who didnt go through any vetting other than knowing eachother, and thus why would they change the rules randomly on who they will and wont let join the justice league. On the point about johnny quick, he accepted that was the best way to end that situation. Ill put you in his shoes, Lets say you and your friends are super heroes, and go to a alternate world to stop evil versions of yourselves, would you sacrifice your best friend or somebody you never knew, and will never get to know? And johnny quick accepted his death aswell. About secret identities and the idea you had that was "better". Lets put you in their shoes, your brother for example is a super hero, wpuld you be glad to be taken away from normal society and everyone else and shoved in a PRISON, no matter how comfortable or homey you make that place, its literally a prison. Would you want that? And as a super hero, you wouldnt want to be a hero 24/7, like a example from marvel, spider-man, hes a normal person basically outside the costume, and every now and then youd wanna be a regular person, being able to go home and relax, maybe go out in public without people swarming you. And since all heroes are vigilantes, they would surely get arrested, or worse their family is targeted by the government. About the flash not revealing his secret identity cause hes the fastest man alive, but he isnt a god, he is godlike but he isnt superman, he has limits, he cant run forever nor can he constantly use his powers. Starboy doesnt seem to have an illness in a regular way, he seems to be afflicted by his powers and the fact that yk, he got sent to earth when he shouldnt even be there at all. On a note about the justice lords, superman did not kill lex luther for no reason or snapped because lex was evil, assumedly lex is the person who killed the flash that day, due to it being alluded to, and how most of the justice lords who talk about him act like him dying was the sole reason why they went evil. Also about mental illness in heroes, most heroes would have problems. I mean lets say you were the reason people died, or couldve saved people. You 100% would be effected by that. About raven, the whole problem is that trigon is literally a god compared to any of them. He was barely contained by the dark magics they used to put him in that crystal, and if it wasnt for raven he wouldve broken out of it. Nothing superman or batman or most other leaguers could think of wouldve stopped trigon, as you said he is literally the devil.

Dc have a different believe than marvel where focus on what happens if normal people have superpowers. Dc is about meta-physical in which certain character embody certain virtues so much that they are idealized (Superman = hope, Wonder Woman = truth, Batman = fear?) dc is like a utopian depiction of superhero which is why there is not much flaws in them. While the boys Universe show a cynical view what would happen if people got superpower but abused it. Am i saying dc bad? Not really, some story requires certain disbelief to embrace it, you can use it teaches lessons for many and inspire. That’s why we fond of people like Superman. Who fight for what is right even though the emotional side being the only surviving member of a dead race and have to adapt to new environment with different cultures still not hinder him. People love characters for not how realistic they are but what they embodying (like Heracles, Zhuge Liang, King Arthur, etc)
