I don't mean to contradict you rob, but I reckon Bruce sees the family (or at least the boys) as his blood. Dick and Jason especially have had stories that involve Bruce showing them fatherly moments. One of my favourites is Bruce staying home to watch movies with Jason, when he was sick or when Joker left acid in the Redhood mask. Sure maybe he isn't the greatest fatherly figure, but the foundations are definitely there. Whether he is asking Dick to go under cover in Spiral and to do his best; or scalding Jason for choosing to pretend to be a criminal. These are all traits that can be associated with at the very least a very "straight and narrow" father figure.
@Dawings218 жыл бұрын
a09as pretty sure she is the teacher because they need to increase her popularity before the new series of hers drops. there have been plenty of times in not only N52, but also post crisis where he dolts on both the older Robins.
@chinyereugwu94318 жыл бұрын
When in the nu52 has he been fatherly to Jason? When he took him back to the place where he was killed and tried to force him to relive his death so he could use it to bring Damian back? When he gets angry when Jason refuses and Shouts "e; "I want to see my son [Damian] grow up"? In Death of the family when he gets free from the Joker and proceeds to untie Damian and have a heart to heart with him whilst every one else is still tied up and in danger? Bruce is an arse. Though I do believe he considers Dick and Jason as his sons as well the writers don't show it well.
@Dawings218 жыл бұрын
Jason: The part where they stayed in to watch movies? The part where after his death he tries numerous times to apologise? The part where early into the N52 and Snyders event where he stays at the mansion? Dick: Dick has innumerable moments with Bruce, heck the N52 is pretty much built on his love for the "first son"; a quick example would be the end of Forever Evil. Tim: Tim is a little bitch, so no one should care. Damian: Everyone forgetting the whole death of Damian story ark? How about all the stories leading out of it, it was only recently (read as post Tim death) that Bruce became a complete dick (pun intended) to Damian. Barbara: Simple, Bruce got no time for them awkward booty calls no more.
@chinyereugwu94318 жыл бұрын
Jamie Phillips Dude the examples you give as Bruce/Jason fatherly moments are not valid. All they show is that he cares for Jason. Heck what you say can be applied to BatCow. Does that mean that Bruce and Batcow have a fatherly relationship? No He lets her live in the batcave all the time despite the fact that she poos everywhere and it must be inconvenient as all hell. He spends time talking to her and consoling her trying to make her [himself] feel better about Damian's death. He makes sure she is feed. He worries so much about her that he takes the time to monitor and watch over her when he should be working. All the above happened in the comics. Listen I'm not trying to start something here but it is pretty obvious Damian is the 1st time we see Batman trying to truly parent. Trying to raise his child to become a good human not training a solider. It's the 1st time we see Bruce adjusting and changing the way he usually speaks and emotionally reacts to his robins. We see a lot more emotion come into play. This is greatly evidenced in the dialogue between the two. We see it in Bruce's frustrations, in their squabbles, in the words he says to Damian, in the lenghts he goes to introduce Damian to and teach him about his grand parents. In his inclusion of Damian in the rituals he engages in to honour them. In his abandonment of said ritual after Damian comes into his life and he embraces fatherhood and starts looking forward. We see it the way he deals with Damian's death [Bruce Wayne chose to resurrect his son instead of his parents when given the choice! This dude is all about his dead parents!] and in the way he seems to adopt an unfair double standard when it comes to Damian. We see it when he covers up the murder of Nobody. We see it in his frustration with Damian and the amount of snark and disrespect Bruce is willing to swallow, grin and bear with all in the name of parenting. With Dick and Jason you never have the parental woes and struggles we saw in the Batman and Robin book cos Bruce never assumed the role of parent with them. He was instead their care giver. That is not to say that he loves em any less or that he didn't care. Just that it was a different sort of relationship. There is a huge difference between caring and parenting.

I'm kinda not sure how I feel here. The writer behind Justice League seems to be at stark contrast with the other writers for Rebirth right now, especially with the Batman/Superman dynamic. Trinity has them start rocky but at the end of the day act like the people we know them to be through the course of actually spending an evening talking and even hinting at a new bond as the "Super Dads". Even under the influence of mind control or magic, the "I'm gonna kill Batman" was waaaaay too out of left field. Like, less reason for this fight to be happening than in Batman V Superman left field.

@ScronnyJohnny318 жыл бұрын
I feel like Hitch is just disregarding everything else that is happening in rebirth. Flash is with Meena in his own book, then Hitch decides to put Jessica and Flash together too. Hal Jordan put the two Green Lanterns in the Justice League so they would have mentors who could teach them what it means to be a hero, yet there is no mentoring and during extinction machines they were for the most part by themselves simply destroying everything in sight. Jessica has also started to evolve as a character along with SImon Baz and that isn't reflected anywhere in these first stories. I'm really hoping this title turns around, Hitch has some great ideas they just aren't being executed properly and the characters should be closer to what they are in their solo books.

They can have *"arguments"* and *"opposing viewpoints"* (which is natural and normal) but they should NOT be fighting each other. They are supposed to work together because they're *"good guys"* who are also *"heroes."* Oh, and none of these comic book heroes are "realistic" so it really doesn't matter which is "more realistic" since none of these characters are realistic.

Certain story archs go in a certain directions because a lot of times the writers have a underlined astrological meaning....hense the the pairing of Flash and Jessica or any "green" for that matter as well as, why Batman always ends up fighting super man....Day and night, Sun and Moon....Batman typically gives off Satunic energy in his stories and represents the human or physical manifestation of the god Saturn and Kal El is the Sun

I think a little awareness could go a long way here lol. Irl I attempt to get at the core of an issue or at least hear an opinion. GL shouldn't be able to solve her fear problem on her own because it's also her doubting herself and being a loner. It makes more sense for her to be afraid of losing everything by deciding not to confront her fear lol. She should have overcome her phobia by now instead of becoming such an obvious enigma imo.

I disagree. From the way you explained it she was the cause of the problem, and being the only one to actually 'see' the problem, was the only one who could deal with it. The way it was written, it seemed as if Batman and Superman would have done the same as they realized that things weren't quite right, but didn't have a target to eliminate. Jessica was right to leave the team and to be honest, i don't see how she's even a Green Lantern with her fear being so overwhelming. Maybe she'll be the next Parallax?

@LupineShadowOmega8 жыл бұрын
Not to be that guy, but yeah...that's not what this story is. Batman doesn't trust Superman, because this isn't the Superman he's known. This isn't the guy that was his best friend, that he could be sure of his innate goodness and humanity. This is someone new. Someone similar yes, but similar isn't the same. The Supes that he trusted, trusted Batman in return and while this version does as well, he's a little less patient than he should be and that leads to him being frustrated and here manipulated. So it isn't that Batman doesn't trust the League here, they'd hashed that out ages ago, this is about this Superman being different and no one really knowing what that means. Least of all Batman.
