I would love it if WB/DC decided to release a new ART OF THE FILM book for the SNYERCUT. We could get the double of the size of it.

I do love how they tried to hide the concepts, screenshots of the original Steppenwolf, Darkseid, Dassad, Apokolips, Souls of the Motherboxes, Lanterns, Martian Manhunter of what Snyder and the artists designed and went with.

@ Trent Osborne, I can only find 1 of the 4 comments you left me about Ares, Steppenwolf, JL and Screenshot. However, here are 2 screenshots from the rare Titan soft cover version of the book in this video I took today, it is a little different (more small pictures but maybe less pages or less text than hard cover but 75% the same after rewatching this video) ibb.co/cibesG and ibb.co/iW1jRb I even zoomed in on my screenshot and you can still see the superman costume grooves in boots over memorial that exactly match Henry Cavil black superman costume picture tweet last year. Also do you think when Jonathan Kent picture sank in liquid when Superman revived, it changed his behavior later? Seemed weird they focused on that for 5 seconds.

Enemy of The state Thank you for the picture it definitely supports your theory and I'm guessing the black suit was in the movie at some point, however I believe Snyder was the one who cut it, as he did shoot the monument fight and Cavil is shirtless also shoeless. So when exactly your picture came into play I'm not certain though I would take a guess he had it in the monument fight as sort of a callback to the vision he had in MOS and the black suit he wore during it before he decided to go with something else. I have a habit to ramble so I usually delete certain comments if I feel like I'm just going on and on. I felt my Ares comment was unnecessary I was defending Steppenwolf as a villain and character there was no need to tear down Ares to make my point so I deleted it. It happens often with me I tend type more than I need which sometimes results in me posting comments I decide later aren't necessary.

Trent Osborne cool...as far as I know I'm the only person who showed proof of the picture on internet ever, the cinemagrapher confirmed in interviews he shot Henry in black suit early on but I proved it. Yes you are right zack changed it for some reason maybe he thought internet would bitch Henry in same suit as m.o.s. like internet bitched about everything in movie anyway id say it was a good call. I never even seen another soft cover art of film JL book besides mine. But hope this video maker you and other dceu fans spread the picture and word about it...

Enemy of The state The photo sinking represents Clark's humanity sinking away which is depicted through the above and below motif the photo is a link to Clark's humanity and it's sinking below, Clark is being made into something less than human. Bruce said Clark was more human than him and now he's potentially making Clark less human. It also relates to the parallels to between Johnathan and Clark, Johnathan chose to die and this wrecked Clark with guilt driving a great deal of his actions. Clark chose to die in BVS which wrecked Bruce with guilt and is now driving him. It represents how the guilt over one's Death is dragging these individuals down. Clark's guilt constantly cuts him off from humanity and Bruce's guilt always pushes him away from his own. In this moment both men are being destroyed by guilt and the thing that inspired them is also the guilt that plagues them. And in that moment both sacrifices are being torn down, Clark's is being defiled and by potentially using Clark this way Johnathan's sacrifice is being torn down as well. Both sacrifices are being destroyed as such both Johnathan and Clark sink to the bottom, their sacrifices are becoming less than what they were meant for.

There isn't anything in this book that was not in the movie... There is a lot of talk about how Joss Whedon destroyed Zack's vision, as well as all this insane stuff that WB and Joss cut out, that if released, would have made this movie so much better than it was. This book you have just shown kinda argues against that. Also, I've watched videos on the deleted scenes, and from what I gather, the scenes that were cut didn't actually help forward the story any. Just a couple of scenes which seemed more like fan service elements that really didn't need to be there as far as plot is concerned, so again, no real evidence of Joss destroying anything. Of course this is my opinion, based on what I have seen so far.

Exactly a lot of LIES!!!! A lot of LIES circulated to hurt the movie at the box office. The concept art would have something with the Black Suit some sort of hint to it. And this was done BEFORE JOSS CAME ON THE SCENE. We had concept art from as early as March 29th this year which is seen in this book!!!! The very cover i am talking about with the concept art!!!! Real talk #TRUTH.

Indigo_Journey actually those scenes that were eliminated show deep characters arc and story development. Darkside for instace was going to be in justice league two, that was the whole reason why they revive superman.

Everyone says "a lot of flaws" but nobody really names them all, just 1 or 2 examples like cheesy dialogue (cheesy dialogue in mcu too) or Steppenwolf (mcu had corny villians too). I still think JL > Avengers 2. Steppenwolf wasn't even worst dceu villian, Ares was.

Enemy of The state The reason you don't get many actual reasons is because finding real criticism and flaws requires effort which people aren't willing to do. For all the criticism Steppenwolf gets we actually know a lot about him. We know his background we understand his philosophy on fear and how it relates to power, we know his motive and why, he was shamed in his defeat and failure to mother and now wishes to finish what he started redeeming himself and reclaiming his place among the gods. We know he worships Mother because he sees her power to create and destroy as the only truth of the universe. We also know that his failure deeply effected him as he longs for everyone to love and adore him, which is why he wants to take his place among the new gods. His devotion to mother is pretty much the same as a fanatics devotion to their god. He seeks to unify the universe by making every planet like his own through Mother's righteous power. He's a religious fanatic, an analogy of fanaticism with some very heavy Lucifer symbolism. His dialogue is very cleverly crafted as everything he says is designed to invoke fear in whoever he's talking to as wielding fear over another is having power over them, and power is the only truth. He says what he knows will shake his enemies and give him a sense of power over them. It doesn't take much to conclude Steppenwolf lived in fear of those more powerful than him and was indoctrinated with this belief. Steppenwolf is a fully fleshed out character the movie gives his backstory, his fanatical devotion to Mother which drives his philosophy on fear and power which his dialogue supports and gives us enough of his psyche to conclude what his upbringing likely was.

Enemy of The state There's no right way to say this but I think it's true all the same. People don't like Steppenwolf because they're not trying they're not trying because people really don't care about actual character development or characterization. When people say they want complex and layered characters they mean they want fun, likable and cool characters. Most of the audiences really aren't willing to actually empathize with characters it's why they're so quick to put that character in a box. Superman is sad, mopey and not all that charismatic so he's boring, Superman's actual personal issues and his psyche are not of relevance to them. These people hate Johnathan's death but don't realize how critical it is to Clark's overall psyche. While they will understand a character every now and again it has to meet a certain criteria for them. Loki is very easy to empathize with it requires next to no effort on their part. Lex Luthor on the other hand requires a great deal he's not the version they want he's not very charming so his silver tongue can't do the work for them, and his motivation isn't something simple like Loki's needs to prove himself, so people just gave up on Lex almost instantly, despite him being a very deep character. Steppenwolf was a big CG effect it doesn't help that everyone also saw him as a stepping stone to Darkseid, so filler. Almost no one put in any effort in actually psychologically understanding Steppenwolf so all they saw was a CG villain threatening the world.
