This album is one of those things that is famous but nobody ever talks about. I'm sure countless people know the first song even if they never gave it another thought. This had to have subtlely influenced the entire music scene around 2007 without anyone giving them credit. The whole dubstep time period in fact had so many forgotten trailblazers. Now that I think of it, remixes and samples of D.A.N.C.E. were everywhere, but I can't remember anyone knowing where it came from.

2007 was an interesting time for music. It was all so different and wild and amazing. I know I’m probably biasing it from my rose tinted glasses of my HS youth then, but there was something special of early social media days of music and sharing.

I remember being in high school. There was this guy who invited a small group of us over to his place to smoke some joints. At some point, someone said, "Guys, there's this new album out, people are saying they’re the next Daft Punk..." And I was like, "The guys who made We Are Your Friends? The next Daft Punk? Lol." Then he played the album. And wow, it hit me like a ton of bricks. I’d been a huge Daft Punk fan since I was 10, endlessly looping their albums. But this... It was both connected to that legacy and entirely its own thing. Where Daft Punk spoke to my older brothers' generation, this was speaking directly to me, viscerally, in a way no other electro-house group ever had. The aggression, the groove, the raw rock 'n' roll energy that felt like smashing turntables to the ground, Hendrix-style... I knew instantly that this album would change the way I thought about music. We all looked at each other and just said, “This is insane.” It wasn’t just as impactful as a Daft Punk album-it felt like it was ours. I recently caught up with a few friends from that time, and we talked about the album. We still remember every track, know their order by heart, the music videos are burned into our minds, we even know all the remixes. And to this day, we still get chills when Genesis starts. I honestly think that album is the Discovery of my generation.

Funny how we discover music through consumer adverts like that or not. I think something genius is how after "The Party" plays, which is like the start of a party (duh), DVNO comes after that, kinda symbolizing a party that is ongoing, and the Stress comes after that, which makes you feel like somethings gone wrong, like maybe the police raided the place, or a detective pulled a gun and is chasing someone, or something like the nightclub level from Ready or Not, or it could also symbolize someone Od'ing, or passing out because he is drunk. It also reminds me of Cyberpunk 2077 lol, like maybe if there;s mission in that game where you break into a nightclub, this music would be the combat theme

I remember listening to this over a decade ago, religiously (No pun intended). Nearly 10 years later, I came back, and it was just as hype and amazing as the first time all those years ago. Ain't no comparing to Justice honestly.
