I just flew home from Iceland lastnight, I saw the glow of the Volcano from Helgafell whilst chasing the Aurora, Sky Lagoon, and on the way to the airport at Keflavik. I love Iceland, such a beautiful country with amazing people, all good wishes to them and all the people working hard to keep the power plant and the blue lagoon safe from the lava...I am looking forward to coming back to Wonderful Iceland 💚
@NatureAngry13 күн бұрын
@@tracymarshall8277 Helgafell, an ancient dormant volcano on Heimaey Island, caused massive geological changes during its last eruption around 3950 BCE, shaping much of the island as we know it. While this volcano has remained quiet, the neighboring volcano Eldfell erupted in 1973, leading to evacuations, widespread ash deposits, and significant damage to local property and infrastructure. The event was a powerful reminder of the volatile nature of Iceland's volcanic landscape and the resilience of the communities living nearby. It's amazing how nature’s power can shape our world
