@@danieldickson8591 I agree they should have had more air time but wouldn’t you agree that too much and it changes the dynamic and those scenes aren’t as enjoyable & anticipated. Of the 3 I’d say Gutterson needed the most extra time on screen, followed by Rachael then Art. Speaking of Art, I hated how Art and Raylan’s relationship soured and become strained the final season. I can see how Raylan seemed selfish and out of control at times, but I always felt he was motivated by justice. Obviously the shows title referred to Raylan’s shootings always being “justified” since they always drew first, but clearly at times they felt they had to because Raylan maneuvered them into situations where he could kill them. But they were all very bad people. Raylan was motivated by “justice”, but the law often got in his way as it does favor the bad guys. Boyd, however, always knew Raylan was ultimately ethical and wouldn’t kill Boyd unless Boyd drew first. Thus on numerous occasions Boyd was the more rational of the two and would even say Raylan I’m not going to give you a reason to pull that trigger. And let’s be honest, Raylan and Boyd did more than dig coal together. The connection and their families ran deeper than that. They were like 2 brothers that both took a different path. Each on opposite sides of the law. The show did a phenomenal job portraying how often the criminals are protected by the law while at other times the law can be manipulated to frame and/or kill someone but be ruled as “justified”. A truly brilliant and unique show!!!

One of the things that made this show really good was how they showed respect to the other Marshalls Raylan worked with. They weren’t throw away characters who sucked at their jobs. They were just as sharp and deadly as Raylan, they just mostly played by the book. The show didn’t elevate Raylan by making them incompetent, used them to show his leadership and ability to work as a cohesive teammate which actually made him a much more dangerous character.
