Lyre Burch horses were born to run especially thoroughbreds I’ll agree 3 races in 5 weeks Kentucky Derby, Preakness and Belmont is a lot for a horse to take but that’s why the triple crown is hard to accomplish only a super horse has the heart to win all 3 jewels of the crown

He was a very big colt with questionable front legs not designed to take a lot of pounding. He wasn't sound enough to race at 2, only made 6 races at 3 before going sore and being retired. It wasn't a question of if his front pins would give out but when. Baffert managed to nurse him along just enough to run in the Triple Crown and that was the end of his racing career. Bidders were leery of putting out a lot of bucks on a horse with obvious soundness issues in his future.
@agustindejesus73986 жыл бұрын
You can see now that no one know anything about this business. All the ones that brag let justify go for 500t. They also let american pharoah go for 300t at the sales and baffert got lucky with both of them cause they end up at his stable. Only junior m would have paid more for justify. Too bad he was broke.

@DoubleDogDare545 жыл бұрын
They have been prepared and schooled for these few minutes since they were born. They are fine. If they were truly "terrified" they bolt right out of the sales ring and charge through the crowd. You will notice they don't do so. Because they have been conditioned for it for many months before being taken to the sale. You make it sound like they are BLM mustangs when they are very expensive Thoroughbred yearlings that have been carefully handled and trained well since they were foaled.

It is big business to breed horses and produce foals.
@lizkathleen6 жыл бұрын
many of the owners have to manage hundreds of horses on their farm so selling the best ones will bring money to them which they will later use to keep their farm open.
@AlliWalker6 жыл бұрын
Trainers do training, breeders do breeding. The best of the best specialize in one thing and one thing only. A stud has to focus on stallion and mare care, prepping foals for sales, dealing with any pregnancy issues or foal issues, prepping stallions and mares for breeding, working with blood agents to get the best breeding stock, etc. It's a huge business that takes a lot of time and wisdom to do right (and take money at it too). Trainers have a completely different job, buying the best yearlings, getting them broke to ride, training them correctly so their bodies are developed and muscles are ready for the work involved, getting the best jockeys for training and racing, getting the horse ready for track life, dealing with any set backs (disease/injury) that might occur, assessing horse's ability to race well, etc etc. You can only be good at one usually and most can't even handle one thing well enough to make a good income.
@agustindejesus73986 жыл бұрын
Robert Arriola ...robert it is all business. Many of the foals never make it to the races.
@newstarcadefan6 жыл бұрын
