But in taking that suggestion ended up working in the medical field which was truly my "calling", found that seeing others suffering made my own problems seem trivial. Helping people in some way special, small, whatever you can offer helped me heal as much as it did them. Sounds selfish, have always admitted doing my job for selfish reasons. Don't disregard your thoughts and feelings. It took me ages and writing out a letter to my parents for them to understand that I had depression. (along with some pretty patterns on my arm) but they just can sometimes be in denial. Keep people around you that listen to you and try to exain it to the others, eventually they might start to think about it more and listen. There are always other people to talk to about it as well, even if they arnt in person for you, there are some incredible people that you can find online. 🖤

You are not alone in that feeling. I have severe Anxiety and Depression and try to explain to people. Unfortunately there's a lot of terrible humans who will make your feelings feel invalidated or dismissed. So many people think that they are just something you can get rid of but that is not the reality. Then they'll guilt you for having more anxiety and depression like you are choosing it. It's even worse if you're a Christian because so many other Christians will say you having anxiety and depression is a lack of faith. I pray to God almost every day and I do have faith but that doesn't mean I won't experience these negative emotions. Obviously if I could just get rid of both I would. There are ways to help with these disorders but so many people fail to understand that they are lifelong issues.
