Lupus is a hard disease. I was diagnosed at 19 but I believe I've had it since birth but did not really have symptoms come to light until that teen age. It's really a difficult disease. Stress is a big factor and cause lupus complications. Having chemo, iv infusions, stuck on medicines, having to accept and stay strong is not easy. Theres a few celebrities out there that have it and I believe the world needs to learn more about this disease. Selena has systemic..and so do I. Which it attacked her heart and it can attack any other organ aswell..so the fear and scare is always there, limitations, also it causes anxiety, issues with memory and mood swings, being emotional needing more rest then normal healthy people. She's trying to get through it. She's only had it for a few yrs, after 10 yrs it becomes even more difficult and theres no cure so she's in that time where she's having to come to terms with it all...I had to do the same. I wish people would just let people be, even if there celebrities. Gossip this and gossip that. Mess with celebrities that do not have a disease that ur in constant struggle fears worries and suffer...its not easy. Shout out to Selena Gomez! I know exactly why, and I believe it's best to surround yourself or talk to those going through this incurable disease too. Especially the ones that keep your head up and dont ever think lupus is a part of who you are, lupus is something we fight, its not what defines us, it makes u stronger a fighter, I wish she could one day read this but I know she most likely will not. But I went through some rough times and its possible it has affected her thyroid in which that's why she's seeking the right help. I did the same thing she did as far as having a break down. Its autoimmune and it affects alot in our bodies mind heart strength stamina brain functions memory talking etc..so instead of the bs..I dnt like her or this or that..open up and learn about lupus everyone. It will help everyone with lupus if more people learned and supported those that had it so then maybe one day all that have it will one day b lucky to go into remission and doctors more willing to study harder for a cure. Selena pretty much has PTSD. Being hospitalized a lot and sick and worrying about what's wrong now all the time is hell!!!! therapy can help if you have the right one. Which is hard. I would know cause I also have PTSD and when I go to the hospital any hospital I shake and cry. I don't sleep before appointments either. There are many kinds of PTSD.

Id have to agree. This is the second time that we know of(who knows how many times previously) where he went to Haley right after things got serious with Selena. I think he has far to many commitment issues for anyone(espeacily his rebound) to believe he'll be faithful. He fully admitted to that being the reason for the first time he screwed up with Selena. Her having lupus opens the door of a painful relationship he most likely isn't prepared for. Her slowly weakening. And actually needing his assistance in the future because of it. Is a daunting thing to think about for anyone. Haley knows she is a rebound. Why else would Justin get that serious the second time(that we know of) before they actually started dating again? She had to have given him an ultimatum. Rather or not this relationship will actually last. Who knows. I feel the need to point out that her giving him an ultimatum is the right thing to do. It was smart. She wanted commitment and he gave it to her. He has been known to give many promises he never kept in the past. Im not sure what makes this time any different. I don't think nobody wants to feel like this when they do something they're passionate about. I know it comes with the job but, you can't ignore the fact that her circumstances DON'T help her either. The media isn't exactly kind with people either. She has a very delicate illness that can be lethal if not treated correctly. And then you have the stress of being a star and the media. Anxiety and depression plus her currently love situation as well. It was a huge bomb, and I don't think no one in their right mind wants to be hospitalized everytime something small *for a person that doesn't have health issues* like a low white blood cell count. It's very stressing, for a lot of people it may seem like she is overreacting or being "weak" but only those who know about mental health and lupus can understand better her situation.

I've always had some form of bad health, but this 1 is my death sentence that can't be undone and my kids dad passed 4/24/12 & now here I am fighting to stay here for them as long as I can. My sister was diagnosed with active SLE with many signs and symptoms. She sought treatment and went on with a normal life with a new baby at age 25, husband, a career as an ER nurse. She’s now 54, and is doing very well. My other sister has an asymptomatic SLE. None of them had emotional breakdown or depression. Thank God.
