For your information, just one province is bilingual in Canada and it is New Brunswick. All others except Québec are officially English. And Quebec is officially French. That's the way Canada is bilingual and has officially 2 languages.

@nwcoastlife I am from Manitoba, and I went to french immersion school. Sadly I have since lost my french because I never use it. But I agree that the country isn't truly bilingual, however I don't think we should force it. People should be free to speak whatever language they want.

I was just saying the reason it's different. And the only reason I brought up England and the US is because the Us was an English colony, Quebec was a French. English colonists lost their accent because of be far away. Same goes for the French Canadians.

There are 5 categories when it comes to Canadian french. There is full blow Quebecois who either lived in Quebec and grew up speaking french or spent time in Quebec long term. Then there are the french immersion kids who learned french but total immersion in school. Then there are the people who did french throughout high school and can carry a conversation but probably don't have their pronouciation mastered due to not having the best teachers. And there are the kids who took french until it was mandatory and know basic words. And sometimes you have Canadians that managed to avoid french their entire lives and their exposure was french on the back of boxes in canada

@T2thunder Actually 30% of the english language come directly from the french so you all speak a bit french ;) French is spoken in 7 countries in europe and 32 in the world . When you once started to speak french you don't want to change your language look the Quebec and the creol on louisiana , even in italy french is still spoken in valle d'aosta .

His french is bad, probably not beyond the level of french 1 in high school, but at least he tries to speak another language. but if he studied a little more he he could make a lot of improvement. plus, with all of his resources and money he could easily get a tutor and with all the traveling easily access to a lot of native speakers.
