I was lucky to see Del Amitri once (the tour before I'd been playing their album incessantly, but didn't know they were in town), and it was one of the best gigs I've ever seen. I can't say enough about Justin Currie's songwriting, the wonderful melodies, soaring harmonies, incisive lyrics, and amazing guitar parts. I think Curry and Harvie are the third best songwriting/band duo ever. (Lennon & McCartney, and Jagger & Richards being the others). Thanks for posting this.

Such an amazing musician, and a great band,too. The live version of "something in that mess" is actually even better than the album version (how often can you say that nowadays?)! The guitar and slower tempo really emphasize its slow, dragging energy... Makes me wish I had a live recording of this song.

I don't know why but Justin's voiceover at the beginning reminds me of Mark Rentons(Ewan McGregors) voiceover at the beginning of Trainspotting,maybe it's the accent,but anyways I always thought Del Amitri was a bit of a lightweight AC pop group growing up and hearing them on all the soft rock/AC stations but I started realizing how great they were when I got a free copy of their hatful of rain compilation,and how great a songwriter J.C is and his new album the great war is great as well,superb

Met Justin in Denver.Very gracious and patient with all my questions."The best part of an empty mind is it's tranquility" is an example of his great songwriting!The way he crafts a song together is incredible! I can picture "Walk alone" as a movie theme.Right now i'm hooked on "If i ever loved you" too.Thanks JC

Very lucky to see del amitri in Dallas @ a bar called Trees! Justin is a genuine song writer......Just was not lucky enough to get the right management to promote them to super stardom!!!!!
