Yep. First game they just had him manage, second game they had him take a couple deep shots but still manage, last game they let him try and make plays and put together drives. Is it perfect no but that offense as a whole is getting better each week

They’re giving Fields what he can handle. A simplified, dumbed down college style offense. The only style of system capable of succeeding with a limited QB like Fields….also helps having the best defense in the league masking for an offense sputtering with only 17 ppg

As NFL fans we're so blessed to have this level of analysis these days. (Been watching football for 50 years, wish I had this all along as it really elevates my understanding of the game.) The one thing this REALLY drives home for me is how much the Steelers need a quality #2 WR route runner. Hopefully, that will be Roman but if not the Steelers need to figure something out.

I thinks me, along with other Steelers fans, have to be very pleased and excited about Justin. He’s settling in with the team, the offense is still working on gelling with each other, and they’re winning games. Justin has not made any game breaking errors and he’s showing potential to grow in this offense. Once the offense gets their execution down better, they can be pretty dangerous. Thanks for the breakdown JT!

JUSTIN FIELDS QB1. LETS GO
@ross798
@ross798 4 ай бұрын
Let's go where? He is on pace for 11 touchdowns if he plays all 17 games. I don't care if he is 20 for 20 passing if all he is going to get is 150 yards and zero touchdowns, eventually, that's a losing combo. The Steeler defense is 3-0, Justin is near the bottom in quarterback stats and it's going to catch up with the Steelers, MY favorite team since the early 70's. Right now, there are about 40 quarterbacks I would rather have starting, including some retired guys sitting on a couch eating nachos with cheese dip.

Not a knock, just context that should be added he put 20 on the #1 defense and had them so gased that they thanked him at the end for not scoring again and taking knees on the 1. On top of that the steelers D held them to -5 yards production in the second half thats CRAZY AF!

One of the biggest takeaways from your Steelers breakdowns is how boom or bust Pickens is. Lots of talent, but also lots of mental mistakes. Tough to sustain great offense when he's your top guy! At least at this stage. I'm sure he'll improve with more experience.
@zuhayrc
@zuhayrc 4 ай бұрын
Think Pickens' problem is that he's an athletic freak and has always relied on his physical talent to produce results. He's great at contested catches and has terrific speed to go with it. But route running is a very cerebral skill, and you can't just brute force a juke. It's a solvable problem, but Pickens needs to not be arrogant and actually want to fix it.

On the first QB run play the snap is high which throws off the timing. then 74 misses the block on the pull and instead of continuing forward he tries to back track and takes up space. Eventually as the offense grow together all the working parts will be like a well oiled machine.

Let him grow, learn and make his mistakes, he’s been proving he’s capable of being what we need so again why would you throw it off? Just keep Russ behind him for the season in case of injury and we’ll be in a good spot playoff time. They know what they’re doing and I don’t think Russ is even hurt anymore. Jfields is rolling. On that play with double slants at 14:00 i think that throw to the inside slant was an adjustment from how the Chargers were playing cover 2 earlier in the game cuz on the quick out play u see the star rush the flat and the corner drops and they leave the middle of the field wide open cuz the Steelers are know for not throwing it over the middle very much and the Steelers expected that again but it didnt happen and that is why Justin throws the second window.

We normally have seumalu at LG I think he is probably more proficient with the schemes than daniels who I think is in a t LG rn. It looks like he is ignoring easy blocks maybe to confusion.

Not sure exactly how Patreon works but I think it’d be a sweet idea to do 0.99 cents per video. Since $5 a month gets you the Members only posts, 0.99 cents a video can still get you paid for the people that don’t want to join for $5 a month.

they were gonna go for it on 4th down at 8:59. they did it a couple times that game. they had 2 plays calls ready to go just incase the conservative call on 3rd and medium didnt work.

@@TheQBSchool if Stroud made that same play at 15:20 you wouldn’t of thought of it as a negative. You would’ve said “idk how he got there but he did, the receiver has to catch that ball”. And on that 4th down throw to Pickens he obviously is going through his reads you can see the stripe on his helmet. That’s not an excuse it’s a fact

Yeah you’re wrong , you just like fields and can’t handle criticism towards him at all and only want good things said , same thing with Lamar fans

@@cashaetaylor7466 if you watch the video he is praising fields 99% of it and has like 2 small critics and you soft fan boys cry , he obviously still has flaws to work on just like a majority of quarterbacks do , get over it

I can explain that first run. The left guard is a backup 2nd yr 6 rounder. Plays all 5 positions master at none. He missed his block.
