because 4Million dollars is a hefty amount even for them. There is no ROI. Lance could've prolly paid for it himself. But he won't be able to get it back. At that point, their hiatus started and JT's solo career was still starting. So financially, they needed to be wise with their expenses and not burn through all their earnings.

Wow I hate hearing Carson trying to talk Justin out of returning to *NSYNC. After all the popularity and attention they brought to TRL. Obviously Justin listened to Carson. He was really downplaying the group through all of this. Listen to how much the crowd loves *NSYNC. Then they ask Carson to speak at the group's walk of fame ceremony. I really liked him until seeing this.
