I don't like gospel music but this was so good that it has me wanting to start practicing this style on my bass. Outstanding!

Gospel is the best thing to play
@lookahere Жыл бұрын
@@eithrick1 I will have to see for myself. I've always been a funk player primarily and it is very fun playing that style. But I'm always open to play different stuff.
@kingdeedee Жыл бұрын
@@lookahere a lot of funk takes heavy inspiration from gospel and vice versa. Many of the best funk musicians (and musicians in general) were raised in church for a reason. I would argue becoming a great gospel bassist gives you pretty much automatic mastery of a style like funk
@lookahere Жыл бұрын
@@kingdeedee Well, I will definitely be practicing some gospel stuff now for sure.
@kingdeedee Жыл бұрын
@@lookahere do it bro, Israel Houghton and Kirk Franklin are easy starting points but also look into someone like Fred Hammond (he plays a lot of bass himself and he’s my personal favourite)

As a bassist, this isn’t overplayed even though it’s busy. For me, some slap parts maybe a little much but many were still in the pocket. We are so lucky to have him show us his personal practice jam sessions.

I dont enjoy one track musicians . i need to hear a bassist play some reggae , funk ,soul even some latin .These kind of Gospel music end up too noisy and less focused .Bro you have the skills try some variety . Listen Charlie Wilson Gospel music ,makes sense less noisy .Take you back to Bryan Duncan ,Cissy Winans ,
