Trash collection in Japan is paid for by trash bags that cost extra for that reason, so I always end up with a large centrally located trash bag lying around to be filled because it's not quite filled to capacity but it's already too big to fit in the trash can. What's bad is if it gets bumped and stuff spills out though.
