I have tried so many times to see them live, but the stars never aligned. I did interview Justin some years ago, he was such a great guy. Incredibly intelligent. From that time and now, he seems very very tired in this one. When I Talked to him that first time he was on a quick holiday between gigs and he was in Athens. It was awesome.

I like the missing tooth. It expresses the "I don't give a damn about the opinion of the mass". Justin is like an intelligent, wild and anarchist pirate. Replacing it with a gold teeth... I would laugh my head off. :-D He is perfect as he is. And he won't change anyway.

Fix that missing tooth!!! This guy is getting uglier and uglier. At least a gold tooth (to retain the weird look). NMA. Catchy songs from the 80's. Silly left wing lyrics... but a lot of talent. Very inspired first bassists. Good band.

You as a 'mainstream person' - focus too much on the exterior and have the tendency of dwelling on the surface level ... He is the most eloquent, sophisticated and humanistic singer/song writer/poet of our time. Ps: The missing tooth is his trademark and it was due to football accident in his youth (his brother knocked it out ...)

Tunde Hale You don´t know me, I hate models and celebrities, but the missing tooth is ridiculous (the angry poor left wing punk rocker is 100% b.s.). I like his music, but many of his lyrics were typical socialist b.s. I read somewhere he told he is, now, more libertarian on a republican point of view (good to know he got old and wiser). Football? I also hate soccer, in Brazil it is just for stupid people. Yes! Most brazilians are stupid, that's why we have only socialist presidents here since 1995. Everytime the morons from U2 come to Brazil they go to lick the president's ass.

Believing in 'equality' does not make someone a socialist ... Actually their 'ars poetica' on the No Rest album is from the Magna Carta -800 yrs old (1215) : " NO MAN WILL WE SELL , OR DENY, OR DELAY RIGHT OR JUSTICE" As for the records - in terms of politics : the NMA never pushed any political agenda, in fact at times they were accused of being right-wing ... It depends how you interpret his evokative songs ...

Tunde Hale Yes... some lyrics are too christian. But "51st State" during the cold war wasn´t a good ideia, like a song (a very cool song with a stupid lyrics) from Big Country named "Flame of the west". When I used to hear bands like NMA, U2, Big Country ans Simple Minds I was't able to understand more than 5% of the lyrics, actually, I never studied english.

ragrj2009 New Model Army were always more anarchist than socialist, and anarchy is very close to libertarianism despite the cliched stereotype that the word evokes. Anarchy isn't about black flags and burning shops down, it's about individual responsibility and extension of that responsibility to those around you.
