TSOLC is probably my favorite album of his. Every song just resonates with me. I remember listening to frightenend by the sound back in 2019 and just thought it was a great song. Now nearly three years later the lyrics seems almost prophetic.

So much too say about this guy as far as songwriting, singing, simply my favorite, but I wanna bring to light that Justin sounds just as great on a Recording King guitar as he does playing a Gibson or Martin. Same quality of music but 1000's of dollars of difference in guitar prices.

After being a Steve Earle fan of sorts I'm amazed that I never heard Justin before tonight.......I guess I just don't watch as much TV as I used to....... saw he was on Letterman several times and I only saw it tonight and after the fact..... and now he's gone....... He was a fascinating performer........ I think he is a more impressive singer/guitar player than his dad....... I'm kind of stunned by this all...... Obviously dad is a top song writer........ but there is something about Justin's performance that is hypnotizing.........much better than I expected when I first heard of him........what a shame he is gone........ this really affects me......... It's time for the death penalty for anyone peddling fentanyl I'm serious........WTF........

Thomas Cook damn I totally forgot I left this comment a year ago. I got to see him one more time right before Covid struck and told him I loved him, and to keep his head up. We talked about our addictions, and he helped give me the motivation I needed to get off of my pain medication that I was on for a decade. He was too busy caring about everyone else to save himself. Still heartbroken and don’t want to believe I’ll never see him live again. Fuck opioids. Love you Justin.

I wonder what his process for recording demos of songs was. I would love to hear collections of some of raw recordings of the songs sometimes, especially if he managed to write any after The Saint of Lost Causes was released. I know he was in a very dark and troubled place even while writing that album, so maybe he did write more during the off-time.

Love his music, his sound. That being said, every tree loving hippie, every socialist, almost every so called folk singer songwriter, believes that America is garbage and they have the answers to America's problems. However, they don't realize at all that they are adding to the problem by being drug addicted fools who believes if only they were given a chance to help America and the people come together. What they don't realize is most people just want the music and not the added BS, with all the drugs and addiction BS. It makes you a great songwriter but nothing more. JTE was great, as long as he kept mouth shut about social issues. People couldn't care less about that garbage.

Lol finish school and live. Stop worrying about politics. Two sides sames coin. That's how they stay in rule over you. People of the world need to just stop acknowledging that these parasite self proclaimed rulers even exist. Stop fighting among each other over stupid ideologies created and designed to divide neighbors, families, and fellow citizens. If you still believe in the left /right good ol red vs blue sport teams then you've already lost.

Flint City Shake It is a good song but the decay of Flint isn't a new issue. The decline of Flint began in the late 60's when it faced the first wave of disinvestment, deindustrialization, depopulation and urban decay. During the 80's it seen a second wave of the same issues. The city population has decreased by over 104,000 since 1960. I'm sure the metro population has witnessed the same percentage of decline. Flint is the victim of political mismanagement and corruption. When the financial landscape of a city is destroyed by these two factors, to the point where there isn't the proper environment for economic growth, corporations have no choice but to relocate to cities that can offer the proper environment. Hence the reason GM employment fell from 80,000 to under 8,000 by 2010.
