The Bentley manual is a MUST, but once you've purchased the dead-tree, go get the PDF. This lets you do word searches and print out clean copy of individual pages to carry out and mark on while doing the work. I have the fuse block use-table color-coded and next to the glove-box sheet.

Big W on the Bentley manual my dude. I've used it for valve cover gasket and oil filter housing gasket replacements, installing coilovers, and next up is an oil pan gasket replacement. Indispensable. I'm also with some others in the comments - I got BimmerCode instead of Carly and have been really happy. Does everything that NCS Expert does.

I love that bmw, Mercedes and Audi use torx. After years of working with my dad doing construction I can say torx are the most durable and strong design for screws and bolts. +, -, and even the square ones wear out over time and strip easier than torx

Hey JB i got a BMW E90 320d from 2006. I play a little with the hidden menu, and i can tell you: If you're going to maximize youre brightness of the Angel eyes, after time they gets broken. Also my xenon main lights starts flickering. Like on/of in fast intervals. So better don't do this 😁

Nice Video Justin! i was wondering if i did purchase a "Carly reader" can i actually read the Coolant temperature and Oil pressure in "realtime" always,when i am driving my 2013 x5 35i?? i dont like the idea of not know the coolant temps and oil pressure,especially the Coolant temp, for me its a must "visually see at all time as there isnt any other way to show it on the dash panel "permanently" BMW over engineered without "simple dash display" ty keep up with your excellenttttt vids!

For anyone reading this who has an X-Drive BMW, I can't recommend the XDelete app enough. It allows you to set the torque split between the front and rear of your car. In the summer, I have my car set to 100% rear, and it's like an entirely different car. And if you're looking for a Carly alternative, I've really enjoyed ProTools. It's a one time payment compared to Carly's annual payment. However Carly is a little more refined and user friendly.

@@justinbuice According to their website, it's currently $135. Definitely worth it. It's not as perfect as a RWD BMW from the factory since the XDrive models don't have a LSD, but I know that people have fitted the LSD from the RWD models onto the X Drive models

Hello Sir. I've seen dozens of your vids because I am gonna be a M4 owner in the next few months. At 3:11 of this video, you mention that with Carly a future buyer can use the app to see how the previous owner used and abused the vehicle. I plan to buy Carly and the Iphone app to play around with unlocking various M4 features. But I am very interested in taking care of the car for a future owner (higher resale) and therefore, would love to know what metrics Carly provides that I can show a future buyer to prove I haven't thrashed the car. So, what data does it provide? I would love to know. Thanks in advance for any assistance you may provide.

Carly for diagnostic is garbage. I was getting bad coils message on 4 cylinders. I had my BMW tech friend come over with his scanner and found out it was the spark plugs and not the coils. Purchased coils and didn't even need them. He just swapped the plugs and it's been running fine for the last 10k miles .
