I never get tired of listening to Justin Johnson play. The man has some killer talent and it shows every time he picks up a stringed instrument. I attribute that to this song being the closing act on the greatest era of popular music in history. My wife graduated in 73 with Smoke on the Water and me in 74 with "Bennie and The Jets" for crying out loud. So we hung on to this last great rock song of the rock domination of popular music, and played it to death.

63 years old - closest I came to this kind of music (your style) was with the Winters brothers and that crew around them - I'm from the northeast. Love your music and your steel-slide guitar, Justin. I used to drive around in my 550 hp 1969 396 Camaro SS/RS with my buddies listening to Machine Head on 8-track tape in 1972. Yes, 550 hp. That is not a typo. That engine was built to the hilt and you could hear it coming blocks away. Barely street legal. My younger brother called it "The Beast". We loved listening to Smoke on the Water while cruising down the road on warm summer nights. Every time I hear this song it takes me back to the Summer of '72.

I’m older but I had Deep Purple on an 8 track. I love this mans guitar playing. Several in my family plays instruments of all kinds. My dad could play anything all by ear. String, key, horns and the drums. My mother played the guitar, a six and a 12 string. Banjo, harmonica and guitar. We love our music. This man can sure play.
