I’ve been getting tattoos for 10 years now this product has been a game changer especially for me having a job that I get really dirty at. I will say high movement areas like the hands are difficult to keep it on and if you have a dirty job it can start trapping dirt and become a problem but that’s pretty much the only complaint I have. Moral of the story if you have a dirty job plan accordingly and take vacation for tattoos 😂

One con to mention as well as the friction is that excessive sweating under the saniderm could cause irritation or an infection. Although tattoos in the summer are never awesome at healing in the heat but areas that sweat might be better off without using saniderm for a smoother recovery. Other than that it is an awesome product that does work beautifully!

I've been using Saniderm for about 2 years now, born out of learning the best ways that I personally heal after tattoos. I can't recommend it enough, and it has made my tattoos heal quickly and effectively (apart from the standard itchiness that is unpreventable). I'd recommend taking off while in the shower as the warm water will help loosen up the adhesive.

I work in a warehouse, it gets SUPER dirty in there! I recently got a tattoo redone on my ankle and left it uncovered from the time I took the artist's wrap off it on Friday until I got home from work Sunday night. Figured I'd give it a few days to breathe, but I was so worried about it getting dirty or something, so I got Saniderm and put it on, and it's amazing. I'm so happy with it.

Waiting to finish my sleeve in December and I’m going to give this a try. It sounds like for me, the biggest benefit will be not worrying about it while you’re sleeping as we all move around while we sleep. Knowing there is a barrier and it’s protected, you’ll sleep a lot better.

What helped me is my mom warmed up a sea sponge with warm water and patted the area. As she removed the Saniderm she patted the warm wet sponge on the exposed area and the tattoo which made removal so much less painful and avoided soaking it in running water. Then, she gently washed with Saniderm Foam Soap and a gloved hand, patted dry with a paper towel, applied new bandage....easy peasy see ya in 5 days!

Definitely tried this product the 1st time for my 6th tattoo. Changed it after the 1st 24 hours and put a new one on, it was amazing, but the 3rd into 4th day. For myself I did feel the itchiness like some have mentioned. I assume that means it is starting the peeling part of the tattoo and looked somewhat dry I guess, but definitely planning to change it by the morning and put one more treatment for 2 more days to make it a full 7 day process.

I have been told different instructions with two different artists, and that is to leave on for 3 full days before removing Saniderm. I don't know how one week with it feels, but I can only assume way less maintenance on it, but during the 3 days I have it, I don't need to worry about leaving a disposable cloth/towel for the first couple of nights to prevent staining the bed.

I hated using it right after I got the tattoo then pulling it off the next day. Now I usually use it for 4-5 days. At first I tried for 6-7. But I don't know if that's necessary.

I have been using Saniderm on my arm sleeve and it has been great. The only issues that I have had is, like you had, any place where there is alot of movement it will get sore. So I would suggest in those areas to leave the "hinge" open and let heal naturally. I also find that my inner arm is more sensitive to the edge of the bandage. So I get an irritation and have learned to be a little more cautious. I leave mine on from the shop for the first night. Then remove inthe shower, clean and reapply a new bandage for the 6-7 days. It is amazing how well it heals with practically no itching. I then go about two days using Hustle Butter or Aquaphor then after that right to Lubriderm. So far, I have had four sessions ranging from 4-7 hours and my healing was pretty complete around day 10. I had a couple spots that took a bit longer. Great review. Love the product.

is it alright to change it and keep my tattoo covered for more than a week? or is exposing the tattoo to air vital for healing as well?

Have you ever thought of getting a back lotion applicator for helping out healing back pieces? They work really good if u r on ur own.

I don't want to be insensitive or anything but I was wondering what was the thing on the side of your head. I really like your videos I'm watching them all back to back because I'm getting a tattoo soon in December.

I am using a similar product (Second Skin) on my arm and my biggest complaint is that it leaks. Once I get the weeping coming out it somehow always finds some place where it isn't quite sealed on the edge and I get nasty fluids leaking out, usually when I am sleeping

Were you left with any sticky residue?? If so, how did you get it off and will it mess up the tattoo in any way? Thanks!

Ive been struggling to sleep with my current day old tattoo can i apply this for sleeping. Current piece is a full color on the majority of my front thigh a 10 by 8 tat. I cant leg a pillow or roll over it sucks. Ive slept 4 hours in 2 days including the 8 hours under needle. I feel like i have heat stroke from no being able to sleep that stress away.

Any advices for people that are doing half of a sleeve in one day and the other half on the following day?
@ericharsch94303 жыл бұрын
My artist said that I need to put it on for 24 hours, then put a new one after cleaning for only 48 hours. And my tats using second skin are just fine, in fact, flaking and itching was almost non-existing.
@justinkd3 жыл бұрын
You can leave the second one on for up to 6 more days. They say 7 days in total, better to have it on the whole time because it takes away from cleaning and taking care for those days but having it on for the first 3 is the most critical

I'm using Dermalize which is identical to Saniderm, I pulled the tattoo up which they don't recommend as its more painful. The tattoo looks as if it's faded, how long did it take for yours to look "normal"?

What about working out with the saniderm on?

Just got a tattoo and my artist said too keep the one piece he put on straight for 7 days, is that fine?

A lot of artists suggest Doing this, and I mean it’s worked in certain circumstances with me aswell but I do believe if you’re weeping/having a lot of fluid buildup then you must clean it & change it
@Marcellus-ro4ko3 жыл бұрын
So the question I have is, after waiting 2-3 days from working out, can I wrap my tattoo with Saniderm and work out in it to keep it safe? Since it doesn’t cut off oxygen from the tattoo and keeps everything else out? Then take it off after and just wash the tattoo like normal?

A lot of the cons can come from your tattoo artist. A heavy handed artist compared to a light handed experienced artist can be the difference between a lot of weeping. Although it does get slightly itchy about 4/5 days in Id say its the way to go unless your weeping puddles.

This may be a dumb question but would going in a hot tub in an outdoor area that is cold like Colorado (currently where I’m at) be different if just hopped in a hot tub in a much warmer climate. I got my tattoo 10 days ago

So my artist just covered my new tattoo on my right forearm with this product , but I feel like it's cutting off circulation . Is there a way to loosen it ?

I just got a new tattoo and my artist put saniderm on it. She said to keep it for 5 days without changing. Would that be an issue?
@justinkd4 жыл бұрын
Saniderm says otherwise but many have just left the one skeet on without removing it and have had good results. My only thing would be to make sure there’s no weeping, in that case do what I did and cut a little hole, drain and patch
