At the 3:16 mark, you mention that it was nearly impossible to capture a flattering image, but isn't that what ND filters/umbrellas/flash are for? I would have at the very least used an ND filter and a reflector (to place either overhead or reflect light back to the model). Either way, very nice video, great model!
@justinlaurens2 жыл бұрын
Yes all very good points, this shoot was a purely Outdoor Natural Lighting shoot, however, but yes you're right at least an ND filter would have been helpful.

@justinlaurens4 жыл бұрын
Hey :) I actually don't use any flash/lighting equipment. I simply rely on natural light and Photoshop editing techniques to create the effects you see in my work. Does that help?

She's absolutely amazing! I'm not sure if it's because of my Monitor (Eizo CS270, calibrated but not limited to sRGB), but the video footage looks very strange often times. I get weird colours in different areas of the frame. (e.g. her blue top at the beginning gets strange red and green blobs that look like colour noise or blown out highlights) In the old town area, her hair gets prominent green highlights and in the shadowy alley, the shadows get a strong tint of magenta AND cyan.. (again, looking like an iso 100'000 shot) and her top in the second to last setting (steps in front of the bank entrance) looks colourful even though it isn't in the photos. Is this an issue with the wide colour gamut of my monitor or artefacts from the video processing you used?

I HV a Question. I'm a Hobbyist. Want a good DSLR for both Photography n Videography. I'm confused between Canon 200d ii Vs FUJIFILM X-T200. 1) Photography : I'm sure 200d beats X-T200. Bcoz canon has very affordable Lenses like 50mm/f1.8 , 24mm/f2.8 etc. Fuji lenses are costly. Maybe bcoz they r better quality than canon. But As a Hobbyist I can't afford them. Lenses are equally important as body I feel. So I'm correct in point 1 ? 2) Videography : Is 4K of X-T200 so good in Autofocus n Quality that I should choose X-T200 over 200d mark ii ? Or 1080p of mark ii is decent enough ? Plz reply. 🙏🙏 🎉🎉

Good content as usual Justin. By the way, with the wonderful natural smile that the model has I don't understand why you didn't take advantage of any of these "in between" moments. All the final expressions, while beautiful, look very similar to me, and keeping some natural smile of her would have add some variety to the series (but hey, it's just my oppinion, no trolling here, i don't wat to sound rude at all!)

Nice shoot man. Love the narration of your thought process and how you plan. Enjoy your style. But that music is a killer. It blasts way to loudly in between the narration. Extremely annoying. If you just have to have music to fill in the silence at least make it the same volume as your voice but preferably a little lower. You dont have to fill every moment with noise. Let your work speak....
