just saw them a few months ago in san diego. Still awesome and this song holds a lot of memories for me and a friend that has since past. Didnt have crying on my plan for a cake concert, but it happened

Quirky: yes. But also just a great band, good song writing, really decent albums and amazing level of musicianship. I guess they didn't make it big because they got mainstream attention with "The Distance" which wasn't really representative of the rest of their (then small) catalogue. Also: really great live band and speaking as a guitarist: Xan McCurdy is SO underrated! Amazing player.

They were a fun band. Loved songs like “Sheep Go to Heaven”, “Love You Madly”, “Short Skirt”. I loved that they didn’t seem to take themselves too seriously, but the music was always good. Similar vibe to Ben Folds.

I was so confused at first. I know my Sinatra, and I couldn't recall him having a song called "Cake". This song was not to my taste.
