Great transription Justin - thanks so much for the time taken to put this together. Having tried to work out this song on and off for hours over the years, I appreciate how difficult it is. (Also somewhat comforting to see you also found parts of it challenging! The bridge in Part 3 and the outro have had my fingers in knots for years!) You have a great ear for picking out the melodies and rhythm and explaining them in a way that makes sense. Really helpful. :)

+Evgeniy NeutralMusician did you actually read Justin's reply? He was quite happy to let me know he has it on his site, so theres no need for your smart ass comment. You say... "what a disrespect"...... oh yeah my question was disrespectful.....lmao. You obviously don't know the meaning of disrespect, atleast make some sense. I guess smart ass people like yourself will never vanish.

+JustinGuitar Songs Hi Justin...I think a big part of the solo is the sound of your guitar! What kind of amp, settings, pedal are you using to get the sound. I have a Tele with a Strat pick-up in the middle. How are you getting what I call the "bell sound"?

I learned this song from you around a year or two ago but to this day, I can't do the last part with similar speed to knopfler.
@hangedman8214 жыл бұрын
Use a metronome and speed it up a bit more every time. Then play it faster than Knopfler plays....and when you go back to doing it at normal pace it will be easy.
@Chilldude5794 жыл бұрын
@@hangedman821 damn, I left that comment 2 years ago. Wow. Needless to say I can do it 1.5x speed with perfect note ringing right now. Thanks for reminding me of this piece of nostalgia I left here

@@Chilldude579 Thanks for the encouragement Dorukan...i'm working on it. I'm showing my age.....but the first band I ever saw was Dire Straits at the Glasgow Apollo in 1978. 3,000 capacity....and it was half full. All the best mate!
@EvgeniyNeutralMusician8 жыл бұрын
Justing, thank you very much for examining and analysis of such a great song/s. I wish you can do more of Dire Straits. Not only lessons, just play as well. Definately my the most favourite band. As well as Mark Knopfler is my 'guitar hero'. Really mostly because of him I started to play far better, not like complete shit strumming street songs. Well, along with The Who, probably ;) Mark Knopfler, a true legend. I wish you will meet with him one day or even jam. Same here, but I'm a realist :D Best wishes and keep up such a great work. Go on! Cheers!
