In my view. Some adjustments can be made on the cardboard box to withstand the hurricane. Like filling the boxes with sand and shielding it from rain with plastic sheet on the walls and lastly making the roof with thick cardboard slabs instead of boxes, with their widths placed vertically and connected to other slabs in a grid like arrangement.
