The years of 2003-04. I remember Usher, Beyoncé, and Alicia running things. You couldn’t turn on the radio without hearing at least one of them. From Dangerously in Love to The Diary of Alicia Keys to Confessions. Man, we were getting jams back to back. Nothing beats that early 00’ R&B.

And then when Alicia linked up with Usher and did "My Boo"... You're right, all three of them were at their peak. 💯

Alicia Keys brought a cool, confident, swag to R&B that hadn't been seen in a while from female artists. She was in her own lane for sure.

The setting for this video was all about nostalgia. The vintage coffee house, the old school R&B, the doo woop background vocals and the video references to a Black movie classic. This was top quality.

I just ordered this CD from Amazon. This video reminds me of when I worked at IHOP and I had a huge crush on a cop who would come in every morning and order buckwheat pancakes and coffee. That restaurant came to halt when he came in because I didn't do anything from the time he sat down until the time he left. He was so fine. My co-worker knew not to ask me to do anything when he was there.

First off Chubby thanks GREAT request. The sample came from Let Me Prove My Love to You by The Main Ingredient. Alicia Keys did this JUSTICE. Those 🎹 piano keys is EVERYTHING. Then there's MOS DEF my emoji's gonna tell it all 🤎🖤❤️🤎🖤❤️🤎🖤❤️

Yeah that party scene was definitely inspired by Coolie High. I picked up on that the first time I saw this video years ago.

The audio is menat to be muffled because Kanye wanted it to sound retro. John Legend sung background vocals on the track.
