Check out the last recording that Dean Ford made of this song - posted in early December 2018 just weeks before he died at the end of that month. Poignant. You can find this performance on YT by searching for "Reflections Of My Life - Dean Ford - Dec 2018"...not sure if this link will come through within my reply (kzbin.info/www/bejne/qHi4emyAgbRpoc0si=JtAmUr1lSlRFRgTn). And note especially the great control he still had of his voice at age 73, despite the fact that he had Parkinson's. It's so striking how this song and its meanings so beautifully bookmarked Dean's adult life. I remember this song from when I was still in elementary school and how much I loved it even then. Thanks for doing this reaction video - glad you enjoyed it so much.

So glad you finally got to this one. Probably one of the best songs from the 60s. Crazy thing is that it's still relevant today.

This became a Vietnam War anthem. You have to listen to it in that context to fully appreciate it.

The ethereal guitar part in the middle combined with the brilliant bass makes this a classic and just ties the whole song together emotionally, along with rhe great vocals. Wish there was a remastered version of this

Oh, I apologize there was a remastered audio version. But I stuck to the original recording

@@zenaaubrey2701Don't apologize Zena. I wasn't around when it came out but it was one of my great-uncle Mike's favorite songs and I haven't heard it for a ling time. I always thought it was about a man who was dying but he told me it sounded like a guy going through severe depression who was contemplating suicide. Either way it's a beautiful song and thanks for suggesting it ❤️

I would wake up as a kid hearing songs like this on the family radio.....then go outside to play with this song still playing in my head in the sweet summertime. It impacts me today just like it did over half a century ago upon first listen. Pleasure watching you react and enjoying the vibe that this piece has to offer. Great reaction!

Wow, I had no clue that I knew this song until the beat dropped. This a 60's song if I remember correctly.

You just can't beat the 60s and 70s era for music. So much was coming out everyday, that we could barely keep up with it. What happened after the late 70s and early 80s I haven't a clue. The music for the most part sucked, and still does. Thanks Friend

Hi, Just: I sold my 45 of this to a record collector but I still have my 45 of Rainbow which you will also like since it is similar in style. Would you please do that one soon? Great reaction.

I don’t know what video you were watching but In the version I have seen there’s a psychedelic part of the video which was very popular back then. Was 12 when it came out and brings me to tears still🥲

Now check out a song by Melanie called „Lay Down (candle in the wind)“ from 1970. There‘s a version on utube where she‘s singing it live with the Edwin Hawkins Singers. She could really belt out a song. RIP Melanie
