I have the same bag as you. It's a "work-horse " bag. Great for work, leasure and travel. Don't care about some wear and tear. The Keepalls are supposed to have a worn look. Actually, many prefer the vintage versions :)

I love the Macassar Keepall 45 so much! It's such a gorgeous, sophisticated-looking piece of luggage. I happy you're sharing your experiences with this beautiful bag here on KZbin. Hi Jennifer, I have the Apple leather polishing kit and Loving my Bags, and it really helps to keep it clean and shinny. I love when a bag is well used but has been treated with these products. Thanks! I love this bag to go with a spinner on flights! I do not need a bungee for schlepping...I just plop it on top and wrap the shoulder strap around the spinner handle. Works like a charm! :)

I plan to buy this in the eclipse print and I am wary of leaving it in the room unattended, worried that it might get stolen, etc. Any thoughts on this?

That is a good question and a legitimate concern! I have handled it two ways. I have taken a photo of the bag on the floor of the hotel room closet (in case I need to prove that it was there!!) and I have also emptied it and folded it down and put in the room safe. I felt comfortable with both of these options. I hope this helps! :)

I am concerned that if the canvas gets scratched it etches thru the glazing. I don't even know how to tell.. Last month I watched a man's video and a corner split on his graphite keepall. He was obviously distraught since it was basically brand new. I am afraid something like that would happen to me. I don't travel but once or twice a year if that. Just newly divorced and $$ doesn't go far... thanks

Hi Jennifer. Your videos just crack me up!!! But you're correct, the 45 is perfect. I spent 5 days in Dominican Republic with my 45 and GM NEVERFULL and they were ample. I have a 50 no strap and it gets heavy really quickly; as a result, it gets hardly any use. I would like to get that B-Mac though as I'm always worried about putting my Keepall down and getting the vachetta dirty. Thanks for sharing!

Hi! I know you have had this bag for quite a while now but I just became interested in the Keepall's so I've been watching tons of videos lately! My question for you is if in the beginning did you have any transfer from the black leather onto any clothes? I like the softer leather of this bag but I was concerned if it rubbed off at all. I am considering this bag vs. the Eclipse model (both 45 bandouliere). That inside pocket of the Eclipse is very tempting. :) TIA for your feedback! P.S. Hi!! I have not had any color transfer off the black leather of my keepall. I absolutely love that bag!! I have to admit, though, that the inside zip pocket on the Eclipse is wonderful!! I do wish mine had that! (If you get the Eclipse, you should get it today....because of the Eclipse....!) LOL.

I had the 55 and sold it because it just got too heavy and cumbersome for me so I purchased the 50. (Mono/vachetta) works so much better for my purposes. I am going to NY in August and don't know if I will take it on the flight or not just can't decide. It would be my carry-on because I plan to ck one bag and then I would be bringing a purse also. Just don't want a lot of baggage lol. Thanks for the video it was helpful.

Hi Elie! The custom 50 would be very nice!! It won't count as your personal item on a plane, though. It would be too big to fit under the seat in front of you. But if that is not an issue for you, I'd say it would be wonderful!! 😊

That is a tough decision! I also considered the eclipse...I think it is gorgeous and chic, and also a bit more understated. Ultimately, I went with the Macassar because it looked a bit more casual. Plus I love the black trim on the monogram canvas. Go with your gut. Which one goes with your style more....which one do you see yourself feeling more excited to carry all the places you will take it? Good luck.

No, usually you are only able to carry on a roller bag and one other bag that will fit under the seat in front of you. The 45 is the largest keepall that will fit under the seat in front.
