I like how Joe is aware of his own personally-perceived flaws, shares it with everyone, and appears genuinely conflicted or distressed about those flaws - desiring improve himself or at least lessen the stress surrounding it. It's very human and endearing to his character. All of the men in this episode are so candid about their anger issue - it's very reassuring (as most men with rage issues live in denial, or acknowledge it but do not wish to begin a process of change or improvement). If it makes them feel any better, rage is actually a passionate form of caring about something - But I understand that it becomes very physiological/biochemical - wherein a sort of chain reaction occurs that leads them down a path of rage that is difficult to come back from without first 'exploding' that energy out - (the explosion usually being pretty destructive and later regretted). I think they'll all chill out as they get older and become too exhausted for the constant warrior mentality.

I have a 5 step system when I'm angry, 1. I laugh to stop me from saying anything and if you keep talking my anger starts to boil. 2. I walk away in an attempt to calm myself down for and if you follow me 2. I say calm down to you for your sake, there is no reason you're yelling when I am talking to you. 3. I will tell you to give me space. 4. I will start yelling at you. 5. Its pass my breaking point, I start hitting and my vision goes blurry, my body heats up, my body goes numb, and my ears start ringing. I am about to f**k someone up. But I only got to step 5 three times in my life.

Destroying sheet rock helps with my anger. Sometimes my anger escalates extremely fast and without even thinking about it I punch my desk or wall. It is what it is. But then i feel lot better after. Punching a pillow makes me more angry. I need to have the satisfaction of destroying something to feel better.

Anyone else the type of person who when you get really angry to the point of violence it doesn't turn to violence it turns to tears. I feel like I get super overwhelmed by my emotions I just break down. Which leads to a migraine and me venting to a close friend/ my boyfriend until it's off my chest and I can fall asleep. But venting about whatever makes me angry to an objective third party, is the most helpful for me. Confronting the source of the anger isn't productive for me because I ate saying irrational things in anger, I want time to calm down first..... :p

I was looking forward to seeing this comment but apparently I’m going to be the one to type it. While I like this topic, I just have one issue with it and it’s them talking about how “Asians” get when they are angry. Whatever ethnicity/nationality of your skin/culture is has nothing to do with personality or expression of it. I relate to most of the situations/mechanisms they said and I’m African.
