LOOK!!! A "383" with almost 700ft.lb. at 4500 and a HP peak below 6000rpm!! Great parts selection, massaging and assembly!! IDK if it was the backwards rear main seal, or the camshaft choice that is the key to this smash success!! Seriously, I'm a big fan of the 499" B, they rev like a chainsaw and with the small port heads and small plenum intake, they provide maximum grins at the dyno and track (even in a heavy car!!)!! The worlds tightest 9.5" converter and a 3.91 gear and this thing is gonna rock!!

682 @ 4500 and 638 @ 5,400 RPM gives you 638 🐎🐴 Horsepower! Pretty important and impressive numbers for a middle of the road build as you put it out there in the beginning of the video! As I have said many times over the years now it is not only the parts, it's the people or person that puts the time and work (CARE) into the build! Seen so many times where people were either scammed or did not get a person that owns his work and put the heart, skill, and time into build. I will have to say that it's a great street and strip engine and should do very well depending on the transmission used. God bless you all and your families 🎄🎁

Those are stout numbers, very impressive. Is that with a solid cam? What are the specs? Those are better numbers than the motor I had built back in 2003 which was a 496 stroker 440 (10.5:1) which dyno'd at (going from memory) 576 Hp and around 600 torque with basically stock Edelbrock RPM heads (the Victor heads weren't yet available back then) and a Comp Cams XE295HL hydraulic which at the time was a new grind.

Thanks Robert. I was able to put the cam card at the end of the video. This one is 10.9/1 static. Check out the full build series if you can.

Please let me know what you think about the 413 or should I look for a 440/400? Or I can try to get Chris Birdsong to sell the 426 wedge he didn't want to rebuild due to the cost of the pistons he was saying. People don't realize that you don't have to have the most expensive of everything to get a great running engine and you prove that every video that you do like this. 12:07
