PERSONA FES cutscene artstyle adds so much personality compared to the modern one. 0:20, 0:54 is a highlight for me. Also i don't know if its nostalgia but i believe the previous singer was a better fit.

True, despite having no feeling of nostalgia and Ps2 P3FES being least favorite (Not played P1 and P2 yet), I prefer FES opening more than FES Reload. Animation and Vocals does not hitting the same.

Metis' part in 0:54 is my favorite and they ruined it in Reload 😶

@@Lester.Desicle By and large I'm a proponent of the new voice actors. I think they did a phenomenal job, and the quality of their work is far better than the original/FES cast. That said: WiT dropped the ball on these anime sequences. I like the new art style, but even in the base game, the cutscenes felt really janky. Even by that measure the FES cutscenes felt almost criminal, and I don't even have a frame of reference for those outside of the opening.

The 2D animations are a mixed bag for me in Reload. Some of them are fine, but some of the shots don't feel as dynamic and obviously the overall lighting isn't as moody(that's more of a preference though). The body movements are pretty stiff and just don't feel as fluid as the original. But there's no doubt that the 3D is better than the original.

I will say though some of the original cutscenes were not great. Often off model and low quality with little details and color. The direction on the other hand is what makes the original cutscenes so memorable compared to reload's.

Might be the nostalgia talking, but I felt like the fighting cutscenes in the original was done better overall. New one feels like it shows too much imo.

I agree, the closeness made it feel more frantic and confusing. The wide shots now leave too mucn shown

@@TheCreed1217 yeah, the closeness and how brief it was made it for me. New one kinda drags a bit and lacks the feeling of impact

@adikkuchan like that aigis jump kick spin looks cool, but for some reason it's just lacking impact.

honestly, i agree. FES' anime art direction was better than in reload's.

You can really tell how FES had this emergent vibe because they had to work with limited animation budget (a lot of close up stills and sketchy lines). The new one feels more nimated and dynamic.

I loved the new version's graphics, but I like more the old singer to be honest. It gives a more sorrowful feel, which matches better the theme of the story.

Not to sound like I'm being mean to Reload, but I gotta say, comparing the two side by side, I feel like Reload feels very... clean? Sanitary, maybe? Like, that's not to say Reload doesn't look like it was rendered poorly at all, it's great in a lot of ways and the overall *in-game* animations look stunning to see how far they've come. But when you compare the non in-game engine cutscenes, Reload just feels like it's trying hard to avoid a lot of the gritter things the originals had - things like how blood is being spilled in the fight between Ken/Akihiko and Aigis/Metis, or smaller things like that bullet piercing that drop of sweat in the air that P3 Reload doesn't show... it just feels like something got lost there. I haven't played Reload's version of the Answer and I don't plan to, so maybe the changes are meant to fit the tone better, but just going by this alone, it's just not as good, there's something regrettably missing.
@danielm48743 ай бұрын
It's just that good old Renderware's grit vs UE5's shine, simple as that. Or was P3R made by a newer less experienced division of Atlus.

It's because japanese rating board kinda goes hard on censorship nowadays, also since Persona further stray away from SMT it became less dark, the original P3 was called SMT: P3, that's why it pretty dark back then.
@ChiangKai-Shrek2 ай бұрын
@@svdrevolver5109That's true. Persona 3 Reload had a 15+ rating in Japan, while P3FES only had a 13+ rating.
