I need help bro on how to connect the choke cable. To the choke
@JustPlainCommonSense9 жыл бұрын
+Micheal Curry That can be tricky. Even harder to explain without pictures! Ill try to post one next time I'm in the carb. I do remember there is a keyway on the choke slide that makes it difficult to line up in the carb. Depress the throttle fully when trying to screw the chock cable to the top of the carb. They really could have made that design easier to work on!

Hi ! I just did the oil change on a 1991 Bayou 300 that I inherited... When I got the oil filter out, there was no metal shaft in the oil filter ??? When I looked on Ronnie's parts you can actually see the shaft in the parts diagram... a friend gave me a dead Bayou 300 frame and there was the motor still in there... I took the metal shaft from the oil filter that was in the dead quad... Should I continue running the Bayou without the metal shaft or should I put the metal shaft back in ? What is the metal shaft's purpose in the quad ? Thankx !
@JustPlainCommonSense7 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure. I got rid of that Bayou a while ago.
@npetersen25245 жыл бұрын
Sorry, probably too late, but YES!! (assuming it is the same length and fits nicely) A lot of guys throw them away with the filter and just stick the new filter in without the tube. Not good at all. I have seen many Kawasaki (mostly KLRs) without this tube, and it usually means the filter is just bathing in the oil as it flows around it and through the middle. Not filtering anything.
@MineMaxGamer-jw6dt4 жыл бұрын
Is there supposed to be an oil filter shaft on a 250? Because mine doesn’t have one...
@JustPlainCommonSense4 жыл бұрын
The oil isn't getting filtered without it. It likely got thrown away at some point so you need to order a replacement shaft. Here is a link to the parts breakdown: www.partzilla.com/catalog/kawasaki/atv/2005/bayou-250-klf250-a3/oil-pump-oil-filter

I just purchased a 1995 Bayou 220. When I went to change the oil there wasn't an oil bypass assembly. I ordered a new one. My question is what are the consequences of not having the assembly in the filter?
@JustPlainCommonSense3 жыл бұрын
I suppose the oil wouldn't get filtered correctly but I'm not positive about that.

@JustPlainCommonSense4 жыл бұрын
Wipe around the engine and make sure you don't have a sight glass that is covered up with dirt and oil. Maybe your oil fill plug has a dip stick built into it? Aside from that, you will need to go by what the owners manual says to use,

@JustPlainCommonSense4 жыл бұрын
No. You can usually just look up the correct filter part number and cross reference the number on K&N website or order the factory filter off partzilla.com

Go to the dealer and ask for a filter for that serial number. It must have changed somewhere along the production timeline.
