I was a pax on two flights leaving Tocumen airport (RWY 3R). Both times, the COPA B738 made a 30 degrees (or so) right turn immediately after leaving the ground, which I interpreted as a noise abattement procedure. I was expecting to see the same in this video. It should have happened at approximately 9:20 into the video. Do you know why they did not apply that procedure? I see 2 possible explanations: 1 - This video was shot before the noise abattement procedure was put into place or; 2 - this procedure does not apply to heavy planes.
@bigscott555 жыл бұрын
it's not noise abatement. flights to the south will almost always get heading 090, 5000 after takeoff. sometimes to avoid weather we will sometimes get the same. We do not have noise abatement at PTY.
@robertmainville48815 жыл бұрын
@@bigscott55 I experienced the same take-off procedure on a flight to YUL (north). I took a look on many videos on YT (departures from Tocumen) and many do the same...

@@robertmainville4881 you probably had weather. for ATC in panama...when they cant send you north on the SIMAN or NE on the EGETA departures... they will give you 090, 5000

V1: the speed in which the aircraft can no longer be aborted. Vr: rotation velocity V2: the speed in which both engines ( in this case Trent 1000) are preforming there max thrust Ur welcome
@Acepilot13124 жыл бұрын
Icy Check Airbus A330s don’t use Rolls-Royce Trent-1000s. Trent-1000s are for Boeing 787 Family. This particular Iberia A333 is equipped with a pair of General Electric CF-6 engines. The A330CEO family uses the Rolls-Royce Trent-700. :)

I have heard that travelling by plane is safer than travelling by car or train. However, survive to a plane accident is almost impossible.

Unfortunately one has a long time to scream before hitting the ground. That's what could scare me.

That is actually incorrect. You have a 94% chance of surviving plane crashes.

Can anyone tell me if you need a college degree to become a pilot?
@rayanaltowayan95585 жыл бұрын
No you don't , some major Airlines require it tho
@lawrenceforman69995 жыл бұрын
It’s not require to receive the degrees from college. But you’ll need to go to Pilot Training school for professional. You’ll need to pass the test. You’ll need to get pilot’s license. You’ll need to read the book. You’ll need to study for exam. You’ll need to better pilot and speak English as well.

@@lawrenceforman6999 Look into Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach. Florida. Almost one quarter of all pilots went to school there.

"you are going to fly" Nope, sorry, he is going to assist the AP.
@nikobelic42515 жыл бұрын
I always expect people who make this kind of comment...... besides 1, even if you aren’t using the side stick / yoke and are using the knobs and buttons to tell the autopilot what to do that still is flying the plane, it’s not the traditional stick and rudder but that is still controlling the plane. Also the autopilot was probably turned on that early because of the storms in the area that way they can focus more on avoiding those and providing a smooth and safe ride to the passengers instead of actually physically turning the plane. Obviously I can’t know for sure, they could just be some of the pilots who turn on A/P 300 feet above the ground and decide to use Autoland (which btw still needs to be set up and monitored because it isn’t perfect and can’t be used in all situations) but the weather would be my guess.
@slo13835 жыл бұрын
Nope the autopilot isn't flying either, it's actually the wings...
@nikobelic42515 жыл бұрын
SL Opit I agree 100% we should get rid of pilots and autopilot neither of them do the flying. Thank you man Lol. I actually love your comment thank you for making my day
@marcoeland34055 жыл бұрын
Alex, the pilot(s) fly/ies the plane. The systems are there to assist, the more sophisticated they are the better they can assist, but in the end it‘s the pilot who decides what to do. Airbus may have the philosophy to verify the pilot‘s commands by a computer and let the computer translate these commands into actual control movements but that doesn‘t make the plane fly itself nor does the AP (or rather the FMGC) have the power to decide anything. The „autopilot“ in general speaking is the assistant. Always and on every airplane out there. as soon as you let your airplane make „what it wants to“ it becomes incredibly dangerous. and it doesn‘t matter if it‘s an airbus, a boeing or a single engine prop plane.
