Yes Clara is a very good looking girl. She actually is extremely curvy and sexy but they kept that a bit covered up in the show, didn't want to make her look like a stripper, but there are a few scenes where you can enjoy the Clara show. I think Amy is more beautiful, such a hot redhead, but Clara is extremely cute.

Funny, when famous British actors are offered big roles in a huge blockbuster they have to think about it. Ask them to come onto a low-budget sci-fi show to voice snow then they come running faster than you can say TARDIS. We Brits are weird.

This episode is fantastic, but my favorite moment (it's cut from the reaction) is Eleven's laugh when Clara runs out of the Tardis to confirm that it is indeed smaller on the outside. Something about that laugh, I don't know, I love the little things people do whether it's gestures, mannerisms, non-lexical vocalizations or microexpressions. It's so endearing and genuine and there is just something so pleasant in that even after so many companions he still garners so much enjoyment when they discover the magic of the Tardis and travelling through space and time.
@meghanto

eleven is basically watching the reaction of humans to the magic of the universe. It's a very familiar sentiment, considering we're watching Shayla react to the magic of Doctor Who
@ferventlyviridian
@ferventlyviridian 5 жыл бұрын
A superb analogy. Shayla is manifestly expressive and also emotionally candid, something I admire infinitely and it all makes for an engaging and often empathetic reaction. Having someone to share in the wonders of the universe helps to remind the Doctor of them, this episode is a particularly good reminder of how distant and jaded the Doctor can become when left alone. In that same way I had forgotten how magical Doctor Who was until getting to watch again with these reactions and being able to experience them with a new face and new perspective.

When it first aired I liked the way they broke up part of the 2012 - 2013 season with the Christmas special in the middle so you had Amy/Rory then Clara. It was also funny at the time meeting Oswin Oswald and hearing that the same actress would be returning playing a different part later in the same season. It was never going to work! Then it worked... perfectly.

Wow! I just checked IMDb for Richard E. Grant (the one who plays Dr. Simeon) and he voiced The Doctor in a small animation series in 2003 called "Scream of the Shalka". He's also one of several actors who played The Doctor in the non-canon "The Curse of Fatal Death" movie written by Steven Moffat (same as this Christmas special, and show-runner from 2010 to 2017). I wonder how he felt being cast as the villain in a series he obviously cares about.

Nice to see this sooner than expected :). Don't forget, when the Doctor met Amy he was around 907 and when River 'shot him' he was 1200, so he had them in his lives for at least 300 years+; from this point on it will slowly start to matter that beyond being a time-traveller, the Doctor is OLD. Fun facts: apparently he started school at age 8, left primary school at age 45 and was taken before the rift as a mere child of 90.

What happened to Amy and Rory broke the Doctor's Hearts. When he first spoke to Clara outside the Pub, he did say it had been a long time since he has any relationship with People, 'Those were the days'. The problem with missing the minisodes is you missed a lot of information with up coming stories. Before you watch the 50th Anniversary Special, 'The Day of the Doctor', you HAVE TO watch the Docudrama 'An Adventure in Space and Time'. It's done in the form of an Episode and tells the story of how Doctor Who started. You will run through many emotions watching it.

One of the best parts of Doctor Who is how a new companion (or Doctor) can immediately sweep you away, and help you get over the pain of the person you just lost. I find it amusing to see your reaction to Clara reappearing in this episode without having been spoiled, because funnily enough, for most people watching the show as it came out, the surprise was actually reversed: Steven Moffat announced in advance before Series 7 started that Jenna Coleman would be appearing as the new companion starting in the Christmas Special, so everyone was surprised when they saw her appear in the first episode. They managed to completely avoid her early appearance being leaked or spoiled.

There's always moments that make you want to quit. Don't. Take a break, gather your thoughts and start again. You have more to discover in the series that will make you smile

I love this episode so much. It's a nice transition from one part of the season to the next. And of course, there's Clara, who I think is pretty awesome. :D Plus the Paternoster Gang, who are always hilarious.

Dr. Simeon looks familiar because he's being played by Richard E. Grant, who has been in loads of things. He was Izembaro in Game Of Thrones.

Do you how hard it was not giving away a spoiler back when I commented on Asylum of the Daleks? Jenna Coleman is amazing as Clara. Something about the way she delivers dialogue is mesmerising.

Monster Biography: The Great Intelligence was a sort of a "Big Deal" for the 2nd Doctor. It was only the third monster after the Daleks and Cyberman that survived going against the Doctor and get a sequel. Though IT only showed up in two old stories, it is creepy as heck. It cant be killed normally because it has no body, takes over people and objects and like a ghost and worse than a regular ghost, It remembers and learns and since there is only one of IT, each fight is personal.

Small bit of trivia : She was cast because she could talk just as fast/faster than Matt Smith to make for quick moving banter.

Jenna Coleman has such charisma that she instantly wins over an audience, even if they are still grieving for Amy and Rory. It's an essential component of casting great Doctors and great companions, which may be where tghe latest season went a little wrong.

Also I had to rewatch that part where they're on the roof and she pulls the ladder down then flirtingly says "mine aren't" like UGH SHE'S SO CUTE WTF and then the "I believe you're the previous governess, I regret to inform you the position is taken. Goodnight." Like OKAY WOW YES HELLO

Yesss Clara is probably my favorite companion. I know people like to compare/rank companions but I personally think Amy and Clara would be really impressed by each other. I love how Matt's doctor is drawn to bossy women (same). As for that something about her, the actress obviously has incredible chemistry with Matt and to be charming on top of that goes a long way
