I love how unrelentingly dark this series can get. Not in the "Oh, this character is having a traumatic flashback" or mildly unsettling lore bits. Like genuinely horrific moments that stick with me to this day. It reminds me an awful a lot of the movie 9 what with the heavy use of green and the idea of an inventor living on through his own inventions.

Here's a story. I got into Infinity Train around October of '22, and it was right when I was effectively being kicked out of a bad living situation. Hell, the theme for season 1, "Running Away," was playing while I frantically searched for an AB&B for my child & I. At the same time, I was watching it with my younger sister, who was growing into a teen as the last kid left at home, while getting over the trauma of our own parents divorcing. In fact, considering I was struggling with my own understanding of personal identity, working as a single parent & wrestling with the guilt that came with not following my dreams, I identified with every single protagonist in the show. I was, in a lot of ways, in a situation where I could have used the Train, and goodness knows I'd still take that trip. It was so refreshing to see something made earnestly, and with an emotional intelligence that you just don't see often in adult media, let alone for kids. The only thing I have to disagree with in this whole video is Humanz being the worst album the Gorillaz released, when The Fall is *RIGHT THERE* But otherwise, wonderful video! Infinity Train deserved so much more, and though it's kinda pointless, I'm holding out hope for at least one more season or small film to wrap up some of the previous plot threads.

This show got me through the roughest point in my life. I was lucky enough to watch it a few months before it was taken off of HBO, and in that time period I also got a handful of my friends to watch it and become equally as obsessed with it. It's so beautifully mature while still being child/teen friendly in its themes and content; I have no idea how it wouldn't have a "child friendly entry point"???? You're literally one of the only people to point out how wrong grace was and pointing out Simon is a victim of hers, most ppl just call her gurl boss and act like she's done nothing wrong and make Simon out to be the villain. When she's literally the entire reason everything went to shit and is why Simon got as bad as he did, not once did she apologize to him or say "I was wrong, let's learn together". But instead cut him out and pushed him aside into the dark, and like you said, we didn't see ANYTHING about why Simon was on the train, which I don't see is fair at all when he was just as important to learn as Grace.

i always questioned about Mirror Tulip's plan on what she is gonna do on earth. Like yeah its a happy ending but assuming she is the first ever Denizen to ever go to the real world then you would also think about what would literally everyone else on earth would think about a real Chrome/Mirror/Metal girl existing and the fact that she is living proof there is another world or dimension with a train that has infinite possible cars. And if some news channels got ahold of this info about a chrome girl and a new dimension then wouldnt the original Tulip see it on TV and try to find Mirror Tulip? and the completely obvious point of the government/evil movie scientists wanting to steal and examine mirror tulip like every "kids hiding an alien" movie ever. When you're aware that Book 5 was supposed to be in the past and about Amelia taking over the train book 4 taking the opurtunity to squeeze in a different event that happened during that to show what it was like for the passengers who were on the train when it happened is genius and a great build up for it. Because the hints and signs are there but it's not the focus of the story it's just something that's happening in the background while the focus is on a slightly less angsty story to give us a bit of a breather from the previous season. So with that in mind Season 4 is great. It did what it was supposed to do well. It's not the season's fault that the season it served as build up for never followed. 😢 It's irritating as heck but it is what it is. No doubt season 5 would have been a good ending.

Personally, admitting Book 4 is the last season would be losing hope of a future one, Owen hasn't lost the hope of making more books, he said if he did he will release the script of book 5, so I still believe we will be getting more somehow and someday, and so I see Book 4 for what it is and not a Series Finale

Maybe...Season 4 should have been the 2nd season? I feel like the lore of the train would have gained more intrigue if we spent more than one season with a passenger. Going into depth about the train (including those who live on the train and Apex plot) would have been a great reward for people who were already invested in the story, but it could be hard for new viewers to get invested if they are still learning the ropes of the origins of the train.

To be fair, its understandable why toh does given its a groundbreaking and great show in itself with large leaps in representation, especially for Disney, only to get cut for BS reasons. People were bound to be more vocal about a show that fresh and progressive being canned by disney, only making them look poorer towards the lgbt community, then IT, that managed to stay more under the radar because of how CN advertised it. Plus it had not nearly as much theory fodder to keep things going during hiatus since every season told a new story, which can be lifeblood for fandoms. None of which is a knock on IT, there is just even more to keep toh in the limelight and CN pushing IT in the dark and making it harder to know about certainly didn't help either. Neither show was treated fairly tbh tho, toh is lucky is got an ending at all. But its great people are still talking about both and not letting either cancelation go down gently, even if toh currently has more so. The more people who talk about them, the better.

Really great video dude! Infinity Train is definitely one example of animation being mistreated for shitty executive reasoning. It's a great show that was taken too soon, but we were lucky to even get in the first place. The animation industry is crumbling that's for sure, especially when it comes to original IPs that also dare to be bold with storytelling and themes in favor of rebooting previous IPs that were once risks taken for the sake of money. Warner Bros Discovery is another example of a company in shambles and trying any scummy way of making money and also treating their audience like idiots in a way. Not only were the themes of each season of Infinity Train relatable to the world around us, its cancellation is relatable to the current state of entertainment especially animation. It's definitely a show that was gone too soon before it could flourish more, but again, let's be happy we even got this to begin with.

Biggest things about infinity train (at least first 3 seasons) - they have never wasted time. Unlike anime where filler elements (like what has happened before, intro, outro and etc.) have tendency to eat up about 30-35% of run time. This is why I feel it is not correct to consider it's runtime as tiny. 26:00 - When I was a small child - I really hated movies/cartoons about children. Always preferred to watch an adults.

I feel like Book 4 was very much intended to be a bit of a break from the intensity of the first three books, to ease the tension a bit - as to avoid the never-ending rise of stakes that many shows walk into. Which makes it kind of fall through because the show was suddenly decapitated at this point. I think it would've worked perfectly fine as a midshow, slower, more chill adventure.

I think the reason that CN/HBO Max was against Infinity Train's Ameila season despite allowing shows to star adults before (outside of the fact those were made in differing time under differing studio head and executive who had differing ideas on what shows they would allow. I mean even Owen Denis admitted Infinity Train was only picked up because CN briefly in the later 2010's wanted a series starring a female protagonist FINALLY realizing girl viewership for the first time in awhile and thus that got selected) was because they knew it would also likely be fairly serious and though likely having some levity probably not enough to know how to "sell" the series. Not like outside of the first season the show was even that well advertised anyway but yeah it's pretty clear the Ameila story was going to be pretty heavy and though still good to show children (since Dennis still wanted to make the show for kids... but you know also not shy away from dark and more disturbing lessons and points to make things feel real and properly convey true emotion) it wasn't "accessible" for CN's base. Especially since though yeah there are CN series that star adults, there are some asteriks you have to put on them. For example if it's an anthro animal that doesn't count because CN goes by the Looney tunes/Hannah Barbera method that if it's talking animals that still will in some way appeal to kids so stuff like I.M Weasel and Regulr Show despite taking place in a world with humans have the focus on the animal characters even they are suppose to be more adult. Then you have stuff like Megas XLR which star adults but yeah that also really treats them like kids and has a lot of more juvenille writing and plotting just to remind you that's a kid's show. Same for Johnny Bravo and Samurai Jack probably only got a pass not only because it's a more action based cartoon but because it was creted by Genndy Tartakovsky after Dexter's Lab so he likely had more free reign then Dennis would have when crafting the show he wanted to. That said I'm with Just Stop: I loveeeeeeeeeeeeeeee the first three seasons and really feel the themes and characters build more and more on top of one another with every season and... sadly four though not bad is weakest because it feels a lot more more basic due to being a sort of sidequal unrelated prequel with not really interesting villains or conflicts compared to what we had before. And yeah obivously in the show Dennis wanted to make this would have been the break season and we would have gotten the good stuff with the next on Amerila but yeah that didn't happen and sadly this may be the end of Infinity Train so it does suck to think about how it ended but still good retrospeictve on the show man.

I loved infinity train so much, I signed the petition for it's renewal and everything. And let me tell you I'll never stop being salty over it's cancellation because it's genuinely one of the best animated shows I've ever seen
