Ah yah, Military Police we had the very little in the cruisers back in the early 80's. I like this set up. Why with these new administrators in university departments want to keep most of the traffic equipment out and no warning lights is a bit confusing. Cost down I suppose. Thank you for your service.

Red lights are specifically good at night not because they're dim and don't blind you, but specifically it doesn't ruin your acquired night vision, i.e. after your eyes have adapted to the dark, it takes half a second of white light to ruin your ability to see at night and at least 10mins to get it back.

@@Justthatofficer the AWD in winter is awesome..since much of the roads aren't plowed til last outside city limits in the county. interesting thing of how obviously in Japan cops are different. Usually a cultural thing. Obviously here in the US as unpredictable as things are Japanese cops don't typically have to worry about. Some carry guns but not all the time. Usually Glock and for longest time they carried a japanese licensed S&W revolver that was in .38 lol talk about living in the past. Military small arms are the same: Old. They're so outdated its not even funny. They got Type 64 Howa's with wood furniture in 7.62 like the bigger older brother of the Howa 89 5.56. These would had been top of line 50+ years ago. I work for a POA gated community who has their own private security with a Chief, Captain, 3 shift LT's and 3 Sargeants. With an additional 18 (armed) commissioned officers. We operate Ford explorer police interceptors equipment very similar to this. The caviat is that WE are not sworn police officers but do have authority to write traffic citations and respond to medical and criminal emergencies. We carry full duty belts to include sidearm, oc spray, x26p tasers, asp batons etc. If we make arrests on property we call local LEO to come transport since our JD ends at the gates. But this subdivision is about 10 square miles with 7k plus people. It's like working LEO in a small town.

Not to be a safety nut, however I recommend 2 fire extinguishers. One in the trunk and one you can readily access in the driver's compartment. The reason is if something were to happen where you could not access your other extinguisher Ex vehicle entrapment etc. To be prepared is to be alive
@paulcook19153 жыл бұрын
Interesting video with several good ideas. The only real problem I saw was having traffic cones or anything else a crook could use as a weapon, start a fire in that box of reports in the floor of the backseat behind the driver. Also limits to holding only 1 prisoner or interviewing 2 drivers at a crash or 2 witnesses. Can also be used to shelter witnesses/victims in bad weather where shelter not available.
@Justthatofficer3 жыл бұрын
Good point out. I move those items to the back when using the back seat.
@TheJer19633 жыл бұрын
So if needed he can just take the cones and whatever out and throw them in the back, no big deal and I highly doubt he is going to put someone in the back with something like a lighter. I mean someone he has placed under arrest.
@paulcook19153 жыл бұрын
@@TheJer1963 The problem is he may not have the time to moved the cones and paper documents during a violent struggle with a prisoner. I’ve had more than 2-decades of experience and been an officer safety advocate for many years. You want arrests to go as smoothly as possible and when things go bad with a violent offender the last thing you want are items in the prisoner seat that will obstruct or worsen the fight to get the suspect into the backseat.
