MY BiG SURPRiSE FOR JOSHUA 🥹🥰

I really wanted to make sure that we really went all out for Joshua for him getting his job a year ago. I wanted him to know how proud we are of him and how it really is a big deal that he’s been working for a year all on his own having to clock in get dressed, make sure he’s doing his job. Make sure he’s getting lunch and then coming home and it really is a miracle that Joshua is working and he’s able to make decisions for himself and he’s able to go out on his own and be dependent. I love him so much but I really do think it’s important that he does get out on his own that he does have his own thing that he can say it’s just his that he does learn to work in the real world that he does meet new people in and having to be responsible and dependable for something of just his. It was really important that we gave that to him. And I’m just so proud of how well he’s done he truly is a super hard worker and I’m very thankful for Super One for just kind of taking him in and loving him and taking care of him and encouraging him. It really is a blessing to me.

I quite possibly watch Just the Bells for Josh. I too, have a special son named John. He has so many similarities to Joshy. Personality and everything. My son is not quite a teen so watching Josh thrive and live is just so wonderful. We too, Mrs Bell have similar personalities! 😂 So the dynamic truly is very much like looking into my future. ❤❤❤

Josh is such a sweetheart. He's so thoughtful. He thinks of others before himself. The cooler is insulated and doesn't need to be refrigerated. My first job was working as a cashier at a small town grocery store. I worked during school and my classmates and I worked together. It was a fun job. Glad you're letting Josh do things for himself. He is learning independence. Everyone deserves respect regardless of their health. Y'all are awesome parents!

I am an autistic woman with four other diagnosis who appreciates your son being giving a chance to work at a local grocery store. The manager there is nice. I currently work for a grocery store, Publix, that is a disabled friendly place to work and they require that all of us works go through disability training at least once a year.

I worked with adults with disabilities for over 6 years and it was the most fulfilling job I ever had. The just wanted to be treated like everyone else. They were the most loving. When my husband passed on they brought a whole bus load and they were so respectful. Bless you for bringing Josh up to be such a GREAT young man

My son is 21 and has adhd. I believe in treating him as I would any other human being. I'm so proud of my son also. He started a weekend job in steel work at 14 years old and has worked really hard and progressed up in the role his job has moulded the man he has become. His bosses and peers are awesome with him. Joshy is a star 🌟 and I know he will go far in the future xxx

My little brother is on the autism spectrum and you’re absolutely right. A lot of people don’t treat ppl with disabilities like they’re adults.he’s 24 and he works at our local goodwill through a program and it’s only a few hours a week but he loves it and everyone there is soo good to him. I’m very protective of him and sometimes I feel like I have to remind myself to hang back and let him do something himself. I said this on ur other video but I love how you are going above and beyond to celebrate him and this milestones. You definitely can tell how happy you are for him and I absolutely love that❤ once again congratulations Josh!!!!

The SuperOne in my little town has hired so many people with developmental delays or disabilities. Such a great company. They aren't trying to meet a quota and then saying no more... if you go to work and do your best and are pleasant you have a job. I've always loved that. All the customers, we really love them.

I’m so with you hun, my 16 year old son who his autistic and high on the spectrum, but high functioning, decided he wanted to get a job. I drove him and gave him tips on what to say, etc. I decided to sit in the car and wait and it was honestly one of the hardest things. All I wanted to do was go in with him and be there just incase he struggled or wasn’t being treated well. Needless to say, he did it by himself and has an interview!!!! I’m such a proud mama ❤ Good job Josh, keep up with just being you!!

Heather, my daughter Kelly has Down Syndrome. She is 42. She LOVES MSU! As a result of that, she wears mostly MSU tee shirts & sweatshirts.Two years ago one of my daughter in law’s gave Kelly some bows for her hair that were made of MSU Spartan fabric. She wore them literally every day & they finally needed to be replaced. We were in Cracker Barrel & I saw that they had some. She wears them every day along with her Sparty apparel. My husband does most of the grocery shopping & Kelly likes to go a a with him. He told me that a couple of times people we don’t even know have come up to them & said how cute she is. Another time we were out to eat & someone said something similar & also said she looks like a cheerleader. This is my roundabout way of saying I think the world is much more accepting & respectful of people who have cognitive & physical issues. It’s so wonderful to see that the world is changing & is so much more accepting. You keep on being proud of Josh. I haven’t been watching your channel too long but he seems like a wonderful young man, you have every reason to be proud!! Congratulations to Josh on his 1 year of gainful employment!

I know how you fell my son is 25 and he’s autistic he isn’t as severe as others but he’s still autistic and he is going on 9 years working with H-E-B here in Texas. He started off at 16 it was my husband’s idea to get him a job to get him out to socialize more and to learn to become more dependent. I went threw the same thing as you. I had a talk with the store and they had to do there own interview with my son on his own to see if he would be able to the job. It’s been great he’s learned a lot and has his own routine there. He hours are pretty much based now on when he wants to work. Sometimes he works a lot and other times he may work very little it can be mentally draining for him depending on what he’s dealing with. We celebrate every time he comes home with a certificate for completing a year lol it never gets old. And for the reason is cause we as his parents have worked so hard to make sure he can live the life he does to give him the experiences that everyone else has. He may need help but that’s ok he’s out there doing it which is a lot. Sending lots of love and prayers. Just cause my son and yours has a disability doesn’t mean they can’t do what everyone else does they just do it in there own way and that’s ok. And we will be there to help along the way as well. Great job Josh. ❤
