Estuvo a punto, ademas de que se le da muy bien el inglés. Pero el que llevaba su carrera era Tommy Mottola y fue despedido por racista. Arrastrando con ella y tirando a la basura a todos los artistas que Tommy tenia en ese momento para lanzar sus carreras, entre ellos Mónica Naranjo. Su álbum Chicas Malas era con el que se iba a lanzar al extrellato mundial. Pero solo se quedo en eso. En un intento y en unas de las peores etapas de su vida para Naranjo.

We miss your Mónica Naranjo reactions! Mónica is a singer/composer who has been singer since mid 1990´s. This song has double meaning. (You should read her lyrics to get full meaning and symbolism). The song "Europa" is a story about a grand diva singer performer during XX century. Although, she was adored by audience, everything went to hell when the WW II started. After the war, the society was devasted, building were destroyed and people suffering poverty and hunger. As the result, the diva becomes crazy (scream note at the end of the song), but arose from the ashes. Mónica uses this story as a metaphor of her own personal life. Mónica had been fighting with her record company for many years for artistic control. In 2001, while her brother had a terminal illness, she wanted take care of him during her brother last few months of life. The record company threatned Monica that they would sue her if she did not work on her new record "Bad Girls". Finally, Mónica had it with the record company and in 2002, she left the music scence for six years until was able to obtain complete control of her music. The result was her album "Tarántula" with the first single "Europa" For Mónica, it was like starting all over again, just like the diva who started all over again and arose from the ashes after WWII. Mónica is not very popular, but is a high caliber artist. To understand her music, you need to read her lyrics, read about her life and take into consideration when her songs were released. Check out her video "Jamás" and "Perdida" from her album "LUBNA" a conceptual album based of a book of short stories with a common threadof LUBNA, the sea goddess. Their other songs from the album without video worth listening to such as "Halocausto". Mónica spent 7 years preparing and self-financed the album. LUBNA is a masterpiece. The more you listen to Monica the more you realize how versatile she is, she composes the music she wants and sings what she desires without carrying about popularity.
