There's no question that her vocal abilities and the way she's using them are far beyond excellent. I want to focus on another aspect of her coming through. It's the way she is performing. Look at the humble way she shows her big personality. The way she interacts with the audience and leads them through a kaleidoskop of emotions to "tell the story of a song". They are not done like an actor can do, they are true and natural. She's not going on stage to say "hey look, I'm a big star", she's always in reach of the audience and shows them "I love what I do and I'm here for you!" This is seldom to find nowadays and is as "impressive" as her singing.

Maybe the most creative i heard Glennis Grace go with a song.. sometimes she might " lack " that but the runs and the way she made it her own was flawless.
@hermanmertens83833 жыл бұрын
She lacks creativity in your eyes covering WH but it has a reason. When it comes to WH she chooses to stay as close as possible to her, out of great respect for her idol. Whitney Houston was the reason that she started to sing at 9 years old. She is 42 now and honors her once or twice a year with a tribute concert. Her WH covers are just a small part of her huge portfolio including own songs. To prove that she can make any song her own: listen to Bon Jovi’ s Always, ft Glennis Grace. A complete new work of art.
@danielabatabogdanov85863 жыл бұрын
@@hermanmertens8383 i just mean that Mariah and Whitney are more versatile in their primes... Glennis is more a power singer with less impressive melisma
@hermanmertens83833 жыл бұрын
@@danielabatabogdanov8586 More versatile? On that point a disagree strongly. Ms grace did pop, soul, rock, rap, gospel, ‘smartlap’ and even opera. She covered more than 50 vocalists in all thinkable genres. Of course in her short prime ms. Houston was more flexible and kristal clear, although in my ears she tended to exaggerate in riffs and runs. Ms Grace uses them with care, only when they support the melody. A good example is Always (BonnJovi), in that song she produces only two transitions in a heavenly way.

Just my opinion but much of it is luck and being in the right place at the right time in so many ways. If there is anything that keeps her from being world renown though that she has to own it’s finding herself and her own style and being her own singer and not a copy of someone else. That said, her voice is liquid GOLD.
@hermanmertens83833 жыл бұрын
@@jak30341 Finding her own style? Really? That is your advice to a 43 years old woman who wrote more songs than Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley and Whitney Houston together? Rather pathetic. Her WH covers are just a small part of her large portfolio. But Whitney Houston was the reason that she started to sing and perform at the age of 9. Once or twice a year she gives a WH tribute concert., she is 43 now and still vocally evolving. So honoring her great idol belongs to her personal way of life. Search her, she is just a few lazy clicks away.
