Fantastic lesson in watch mechanics, the most clear I’ve ever heard, thanks.🙏

Peacock also produces movements that have a striking resemblance to some Rolex movements. Their SL line of chronographs share the exact same construction (except for the balance) with the Rolex Daytona caliber 4130. Some people would also tell you that they produce the VS3135 and VS3235 for the best Rolex lookalike watches. But there would be no way of knowing.

Very cool. Thanks for showing it us. Even if it is inexpensive for a tourbillon, there are about ten other watches I would buy for the price. Not to mention ten watches I can buy period for the same price. Ha! Thanks though. The dust is a little disappointing…

As we all know, the most expensive part of any tourbillion watch is the three Puffs from an air blower and dabbing the dial with rodico to clean the dust off. That's why they can afford to make this one so inexpensively.

Excellent video. Did you know that Aragon watches are selling a beautiful central tourbillon watch for $1000. Probably a Peacock movement, but I don't know.

Is that genuine? They have them "on sale" for around $500.

Tourbillon mechanism is very cool, in any watch. But the highly variable quality control I have experienced in Chinese pieces is a showstopper for me. Really appreciate that you did such a useful and thorough review. Thanks!

Dave, that was one of the best explanations of a tourbillon. Well done! My worry is can you trust the manufacturer to take care of any problems down the road? Send your watch back to China for repair and hope for the best? I could handle that for a $300 watch that maybe doesn't come back. But not at this price point!

Well done with your explanation of the tourbillon function, one of the best I've heard. A bit like a chrono, I suspect very few people buy one for the function but more for the look or the wow factor; after all almost everyone has a phone that will time things much more easily than any watch. I can't see this sticking around in your collection and would be fascinated to hear what you sold it for!

A tourbo keeps the batter stirred so it doesn’t stick to the bowl basically. I just got one for $260 last month, sure not the greatest looking ever but still fascinating to watch

My concern is for down the road, not intial purchase. What happens say after a year and the watch stops? Send it to the factory in China? Will I see it again?

Isn't it funny that the finishing and small design elements on a back of the watch look much better than on the front? (except for tourbillon, although it also leaves something to be desired)

I bought another tourbillon from them - Ocean Wing Tourbillon diver watch - the watch is quite nice and big, which is an advantage. The mechanism is inaccurate and is more than 25 seconds/day fast. The Peacock store assured me that the watch was very accurate and had no errors. Luminescence is quite weak. I do not recommend for this price. You can buy a better tourbillon for 600usd.
@Zotrax19469 ай бұрын
It does look like a cool piece. Yet I think it is a steep price 🤷🏼♂️

Interesting watch. Obviously a harsh judgment but the way i see it, the biggest stigma chinese watches have to face is qc. If dust is being sent to a youtuber, then i have no faith for the customers hope
@WatchmakerErik9 ай бұрын
Love your videos, but I do have one nit to pick. Automatic watches are mechanical. I know a lot of watch brands use the word mechanical to be equivalent to mechanical and hand wound, but any watch that keeps time with springs and gears is mechanical. I wouldn't mention this except my OCD is compelling me to. Otherwise an outstanding video and a very interesting watch.
@JusttheWatch9 ай бұрын
Yup you're absolutely right. I only use the term mechanical that way to avoid confusion.

those dust should not be there,it shows how bad qc they have but excellent engineering at reasonable price and they can improve their qc in a near future and it will be worth for us who do not have lots of money to spend 3k usd for peacock

it's better to save your money than spending thousands of dollars for a chinese made watch especially with poor q.c.

While I certainly appreciate the craftmanship of tourbillon pieces, their inherent grandiosity holds no aesthetic appeal to me whatsoever. Perhaps a better name for this model would've been the "Dusty Hole".

Please go back to talking about affordable watches. There are enough videos about crazy watches and subsequently absurd prices on KZbin.
@kart1829 ай бұрын
Disagree. There are also enough people talking about affordable watches. Let the man talk about what he’s interested in - can we agree on that?
@mk841429 ай бұрын
Affordable is relative. 3.5k for a tourbillon is relatively affordable. Still way out of my budget but I think it still suits the theme of this channel - relatively speaking. =) As long as most videos are more in the less than 2k range,I still enjoy these videos as well.
@Bob_Smith199 ай бұрын
This is inevitably what happens to all watch enthusiasts. You move upmarket for no good reason besides you want to. I’d rather see JDM only models. Most are relatively easy to get in the US but finding them to begin w/ is the challenge.
@kart1829 ай бұрын
@@Bob_Smith19 “you want to” is a perfectly good reason

I would love it if he covered the Casio F-84W. I would say that every third video should be a budget watch. But doing expensive watches like this is fine but try to have a balance of both.
