One detail I love in Harry's slaughter is when the grenade blows up, you can see that his ears ringing. For a brief moment you can see that since his ears are blocking out the signal, Harry has a brief moment of horror on his face at what he is doing, then the ringing goes away, the signal reaches him and the rampage continues. Also, the church scene is still to this day one of the most insane action sequences in the past decade.

Yeah, Colin trained for 3 hours a day for 6 months to do all the fight scenes himself. They didn't want it to look like they cut around stun doubles and really put in the extra effort to make sure that when you see him doing the action, it was really him doing it. He says himself that he had a ton of fun having the opportunity to do something outside his usual film.

New York has roughly the same and is a success with 1000 firearm crimes per 8,000,000 (New York used to be REALLY dangerous back in the day) and Chicago has 2500 for 2,500,000. Southern States in the US. Baltimore, St Louis, and New Orleans are probably worse than that.

The point of the shoot the dog exercise is that these Agents often have to kill people. Sometimes they aren't even told why. Nothing up to this point in the training indicates whether the applicant has that killer instinct and will they follow distasteful orders they disagree with? By making them shoot something they've loved and cared for, it demonstrates the agent will follow orders no matter how distasteful and can kill when required. This process is designed to pick good agents, not necessarily good people.
