and that's what i love the most about season 2. i remember when the first season was aired a lot of people made fun of noah schnapp saying that he was casted as will because he couldn't act at all so when the second season aired everyone was really surprised to see how amazing his acting skills were. ^^

I love the addition of new characters. While I do appreciate the smaller scale of season 1, it would've gotten stale if the story was limited to only the same characters. But poor Will. That boy just can't catch a break. At least Mike is being a supportive friend for him.

Well in season one they established that they wanted to use El to spy on foreign countries and while experimenting, El made contact with the Demigorgon which caused the gate to be opened. El told Mike and Dustin that she opened the gate and we seen her do it in a flashback.

This season is like falling down a hill. The first few steps are easy, you're setting the stage. Then, it's all hoping you don't trip and fall. It's pretty wild and awesome. Steve and Dustin are the bomb. Will is heartbreaking and his acting is terrifying (top tier). Steve learns some things about himself this season. This whole season is a growing trend.

Since I couldn't see anyone mention it in comments (though I didn't read them all so sorry if said)- S1 takes place in November 1983 (with the coda of the finale being dec 25th-ish with the xmas gift of the camera and such). S2 starts on Oct 29th/30th 1984. Hence the Snow Ball is S1 has indeed already happened. -edited to add years for clarification

As a 6'2" 300lb 34 year old man, I have no problem whatsoever with saying I have a problem with the dark. It's not the dark itself though, it's what may be in the dark that can't be seen. I remember back in elementary school when I was in daycare and a group of us went into a room towards the middle of the building that had no windows and we turned the lights off with the door closed. It was a room that was mainly used for the younger kids that took naps so it kept out pretty much all noise as well. Absolute pitch black and the 5 or 6 of us that were in there could not see each other from just inches apart. One of the others took it upon themselves to sneak to the other side of the room and start making noises that freaked us all the fuck out. Sounded like some Grudge shit.

Reason we had to wait for S2 with Barb is after S1 dropped the world went nuts over Bard and justice for Bard so I think this was supposed to be a throw away character but the world really stepped up an that’s why they wrote more story in S2 to make it like they didn’t just throw her away like she was originally written
