EL-P was an order of magnitude hungrier than most emcees that ever picked up a mic. That energy is ravenous.

thats the best reason to overlook somebodies lyrics though. Goes to show what an amazing musician he is. El-p is basically the only person that can eclipse El-p haha

This is the dopest era of el p to me, the joint he did with Del on Both Sides of the Brain was vaguely in this time period too and is another super slept on el-p performance

I remember this from early 2000s too. I hated the beat change at the time but now when I listen to it it sounds so beautiful. EL-P THE LEGEND. LIGHT YEARS AHEAD OF HIS TIME.

Only a selected few know what this means “Pull up your little squirrel nut zipper and acquiesce to get with Hoppy”. I was one of the luckiest persons around when EL-P shared this with only a selected few before him actually releasing it to the public. Ahhh the memories of when they were recording “Pain Cave”.

I met Ace Rizzle and got to talk to him about his lyrics and possible references and all he said was "I mostly just rap about myself" 😂 Mind you this was not long after Labour Days so I would have to agree based on hist first 3 albums

When I first heard the train-crossing bells running the track it felt like when I first heard the harmonica on I'll Be OK. I realized almost any sound can be sampled for an anthem. MIA got the kids chanting through Bird Flu. Just awesome what some artists do
