This is what most American downtown areas look like unfortunately. America killed it's city cores by building highways and encouraging people to drive to and from work from their suburban homes. Most of the buildings you see are only for commercial use so there's no real reason for most of the population to be there. Dallas and other American cities have realised their mistake and are trying to revitalize their cores, but it's going to take decades.

I am from India. During my visit to Europe I noticed much fewer people on the streets comparatively. In Amsterdam most people out in public were tourists. On visiting nearby Almere which is not touristy, there were hardly anyone on the roads.

It is a nice gimmick and interesting to play around with for a few minutes, but I do have to say, I hope you're not making all videos like that now. The main appeal of this kind of "driving" and dash cam video is that you can just let it run and relax and soak up a little atmosphere. The ability to look around doesn't really add all that much to it. I would just default to looking ahead anyways. I think the 360 degree thing works better for walking videos, where the reduced speed of movement gives more of a point to looking around. When you move at the speed of a car, looking at anything you find particularly interesting is kind of pointless, because when you pass that point of interest quickly, you won't see much anyways, even when you swivel your perspective around. Of course, it being a city driving video exacerbates that a lot. It wouldn't be that way if you would be driving around in open landscapes, where the viewer can look at stuff that is far away on the horizon.

It’s where JFK was shot and that area hasn’t changed much since 1963 because it’s now a American landmark and it’s probably going to look the same 50 years from now.

I went to Dallas on a business trip a few months ago. I stayed in downtown Dallas. Talk about a ghost town. There was no one out on the streets. Completely different than downtown Philly where a ton of people are always on the streets
@RANDO47435 жыл бұрын
Dallas is just layed out differently,ironically its one of the fastest growing cities in america.
@nwgwa8ybwahwa6105 жыл бұрын
Why do people care about pedestrians? Not every city has public transportation or walk-able streets. Dallas is a much larger city than Philly.
@kimberlycampbell11005 жыл бұрын
Dallas, like most American cities, isn't that dense and is more spread out so there's no reason for people to be walking around when your destination is so far, plus most of the city's population is in the suburbs. Dallas is trying to revitalize it's core by building more stores and residential buildings in downtown, but it's going take decades.
@MrBranh09135 жыл бұрын
@jaxson James when I was in Dallas I was working downtown the entire week. That is why I was shocked there were rarely people out on the streets. In Philly there is a ton of activity during working hours. But downtown Dallas was kind of dead to me
@MrBranh09135 жыл бұрын
jaxson James It was back in February and March. It may be “crowded” by your standards. But I’m use to seeing a lot more foot traffic. I feel almost no one is on the streets walking around downtown. Maybe it’s because most people drive downtown and there is ample parking vs Philly where parking kind of sucks, there are a ton of subways serving downtown, and there is a lot of residential buildings in the downtown area. Just for a city its size, it didn’t seem all that active
