In that competition he was a real beast, but in Serie A he wasn't so dominant. So it's true that Cannavaro was better than Nesta in that summer of 2006, but Nesta's career was on another level. In general I think Cannavaro is overrated because of that magnificent World Cup: he was a strong defender, but he never reached the level of other defensive monsters we had in our past like Scirea, Baresi, Maldini or Nesta.
