Thanks for another great video. I've been a long-time JVC user, and I appreciate that they continue to provide improvements to projectors that are already class-leading in so many areas.

This is honest genuine advice by Audio Advice and that’s why I admire them. I bought the NZ8 4 months back. I have a 120 inch 2.35 screen in a totally light controlled room. I don’t see a point in upgrading right now. It’ll probably make sense to upgrade in a few years. Hopefully projectors will come in native cinema scope rather than 16:9.

Thanks so much!

Barco does a native Cinemascope projector, the Bragi. I saw it in action a few years ago and it is quite spectacular.

I understand projectors are struggling against the 1000+ nits of the large screen tvs in HDR, but for the price point of these two projectors, why does JVC not spend the money to pay for the dolby vision license? It seems to me that dolby vision is winning the format war over HDR10+, and if they can map the HDR10+ to make it look good on a projected image, they can most likely also map the dolby vision. Thanks for the review!
@AudioAdvice6 ай бұрын
Glad you enjoyed the review. Thanks for sharing. We are not sure if the fee is too much or what but will ask them as its a good point
@AudioAdvice6 ай бұрын
They got back to us very fast. It turns out Dolby Vision has to know the max nits output, which is super simple with a TV, but that of course varies with screen size, screen gain, and throw distance so there is no way to give them a number.
@jackbuser8 күн бұрын
@@AudioAdvice ok but some “lifestyle” projectors like the new Valerion somehow have the Dolby Vision license… how could that be?

if we pair this with grey screen rather than white , will there be any difference in black levels

Great video intro for these two new models. I bought my NZ8 as an "end-game" projector and see no need to upgrade. If this weren't the case, I'd be concerned about resale value now.

TV's are getting more affordable for larger screens but many would argue there will still be a place for projectors!
@diesel106 ай бұрын
Especially if you want a cinemascope screen.
@FatalXS6 ай бұрын
Big TVs are to hard to move and the screen is somewhat fragile and easy to break. I would not buy a TV larger than 85” after that short throw projector with a pop up screen up to 150” then a projector like these.
@MrBonger886 ай бұрын
@@FatalXSthat’s why I can’t wait for micro led to get more affordable. 10-15” panels making up a huge screen with thousands of nits of brightness and oled black levels. Too bad it probably won’t be anytime soon 😢
@michaeldee33806 ай бұрын
Two different technologies, i.e. reflective (projectors) vs emissive (TVs). I personally find an image projected onto a screen more immersive.
