JVC k-x2 powers off while playing for no reasons...

This JVC was easy to work on, unfortunately I can't find anything on line about this amplifier and no service manual which is to bad...but in this case, the issue was easy to fix and it's playing nicely with 45w per channel....the bias was set to around 20mV from factory so I just adjusted both channels to that number. At about 8:00 in, there may be some cap leakage but mainly old deteriorated, corrosive glue. Common problem.

I don't think the caps were leaking, looks like that nasty glue they use at the factory had turned corrosive.

Not sure... something was coming from the top as well... probably a combination of both...

Many technicians would of change the capacitor next to it as well. I'm out of this channel.

It's all good...I take all comments...the good with the bad...if someone tell you to just get it working again...it's what I did... The other caps were checked at 99% good. That was good enough for me ....and customer is happy... At the end of the day... customers are always right!!! And my subscribers have the right to criticize me...even though it's not something I'm looking forward to but it is what it is... I will agree...I love the positive comments much more... 😆 Luv you guy's....

@@steven6692 If you knew how little he actually charges for these service jobs you wouldn't be yapping (let's just say he doesn't do it for the money lol). I've had over a dozen receivers, pre-amps, power amps, tuners and turn tables serviced by Joe and he always fixes what it went in for and beyond most of the times. If i wanted a full recap he would do it but i always say only replace the caps that really need to be replaced and keep factory as much as possible. A couple times I found more issues a few weeks down the road and he took right back in and fixed more for no charge. So you clearly don't know what you are talking about. Good Riddance 😁
