I know I’m 2 weeks late. JUST GROUND THE PARKING WIRE. This will trick the unit into believing you’re in park. Although it only works on JVC’s and one other brand. Others have to have special relays, that I know nothing about.

I have a KW-M560BT. Attempts to link to my Android 14 Nokia via JVC app download failed miserably, nothing happens at all. Android Auto in the phone tries to connect by linking me to a JVC app, it goes a limited way then gets stuck on a black screen with 'Parking Off' displayed, what do I do now? Various comments suggest something to do with 'Park' on an auto gearbox, mine is a manual. Any help please? I'm in the UK.

Android Auto and Mirroring are two entirely different features. Android Auto does not require any app and will automatically launch when connected Via a USB and is used while the vehicle is in motion without the parking brake engaged. Mirroring requires the parking brake to be engaged (and connected from the receiver installation to the car E-Brake,) and using the Correct JVC Mirroring OA App and mirroring supported Smartphone. Without the E-Brake connection, your screen will go black to prevent the display of Video Content access while the vehicle is in motion. Basically, you would use Android Auto to steam music and navigate while driving, and if you want to watch non-copywritten content via Mirroring while parked (with the E-brake engaged) The e-brake is required to ensure the safe operation of the vehicle without distraction from video sources. Now I understand about the handbrake thing, it had never crossed my mind that people would use mirroring to stream video while driving, I just assumed it would display the 'all apps' screen on my phone so switching between dab radio providers like BBC and Rayo or selecting maps would be easier. Hey Rodrigo, If you're experiencing a black screen it's due to copyright restrictions from the app your using to view the video. That's why it works for KZbin in this case, but not Netflix.

I have a Note 10 as well. Download the JVC OB screen mirror app. Then hit wireless screen mirror on the JVC. Then go to your Note 10 and drop down the menu on the top where the notification bar is and look for "Smart view." Then it should ask you to connect to a nearby device. Select your JVC and it should work.

@@alfinputra5772 Only if you install the stereo as intended by the manufacturer. You can install a parking brake bypass kit when you install the stereo that will make it think that the parking brake is applied at all times. Then you can use screen mirroring and other functions whenever you want. The whole thing is stupid when you consider that stand alone GPS units allow you to enter info while driving but aftermarket and OEM stereos won't allow it. This even bars a passenger from entering the info for you.

Because you are in all, the literal definition "Mirroring" the screen does not change the format shape to fit the larger screen dimensions resulting in black bars in the empty space. Thanks

there is a difference in the Receiver displayed screen size ratios and the smartphone screen aspect ratios , this method allows for the full view at the maximum ratio without cropping or loosing some of the image being displayed. Basically, the screen is a different shape than the phone broadcast image so so it has some border where the phone image cant fill to the edge (stretching the image will distort the original image, so not a good alternative) Thanks

I just installed the stereo last night. Everything works great except Mirroring. I contacted technical support this morning and they advised to update the firmware. I tried everything using their instructions they emailed to me. I tried with a 16 GB Kinston USB drive formated fat32 and 3 files on the root drive. Also tried with my One Plus 5T phone and doesn't work. Lastly I tried with my Samsung Tablet and same thing searches and comes back with "No USB!". Samsung level 2 technician said they another USB. What a joke. This stereo will likely be replaced with an Alpine as JVC is lacking bigtime.
