I have the NX5. Absolutely love it. Tested it against the Sony 295 and it blew it out of the water. Not even close. Blacks are beautiful!

Settings are different for everyone. Screen size, distance, screen material, room etc will play a huge factor in settings. That why I don't do "calibration setting" videos.

Great review! I own the NX5 and it's an awesome projector, especially with the DTM update. It blows my previous Sony 45es out the water, and even throws a better picture than my Sony 900e 4k TV. Watching Aquaman on this PJ is a thing of beauty lol.

Thanks for the review. After having the JVC for some time now do you still feel the same way that it is better than the 695 ES? Thanks for the great videos you are making. I had this projector for a year now and absolutely worth every penny. What I am annoyed with is when after changing from presets 16:9 or 135 , I have to press exit or menu or it will just be there.

You can program a custom button for the different aspect ratio if you're using a harmony.

I looked in my couch cushions and I didn’t find seven or $8000 worth of change LOL this projector is for people that have money to burn that wouldn’t be me and seeing the situation we’re in right now People aren’t working I think certain industries are going to take a big hit but it was a good video when you’re sitting around the house kind a locked in to watch a lot of things

There is a side by side on youtube. Sony has more true colors with more detail, JCV has better black levels, but is also louder with its fan. Its also much bigger then the Sony.

Not without putting the projector on the ceiling on the other side of the back wall which is slanted as it the stairs leading down to my basement. Would kill my sound proofing 2. Nice review, have 2000 with frame adapt. For SDR like cinema over natural & film for B&W movies. Use a Pana 820 which I can force to play BR from Great Britain, region B kung fu movies. Use my Oppo 203 to play unaltered Star Wars on USB thumb drive. Hans shot first ! Agree in my man cave JVC looks like 120” OLED

JVC DESTROYS Sony. I have no affiliation with either brand. I owned a Sony 995ES and a JVC RS3000. I kept the JVC. Way better in every way. And Sony suffers from panel degradation which will render your projector useless once the warranty ends (it costs more to replace the optical block than to buy a new projector).

I thought JVC fanboys were spreading this misinformation on purpose. Not so. I sold my Sony 995ES and went with a JVC NX9 - it's ahead in every respect.

That projector will cost around $20,000 in Fiji 😬. That's around $8,772.84 when converted to USD. I'll stick with my 55" LG C6 OLED for now. It's a shame that these native 4K projectors are only meant for the wealthy people at the moment. It's also no use buying those FauxK pixel shifting projectors from brands like Optoma, Epson and BenQ. Those projectors aren't cheap and they don't even offer the true HDR experience. Might as well go for a good 4K TV unless you can afford a JVC or Sony projector.

Sorry, you are wrong. I moved from 55 LG OLED to Epson 5040UB with AEON Grey Elite Screen 110" and would never ever go back. The setup cost me the same as the 55 at the time. All I carried over was my atmos speaker setup and UHD player. Just Epson 5040 owner's 2cents.

I'd stick with a good OLED or FALD LED TV and choose a native 4K projector from Sony or JVC over Faux-K projectors. I just wish that manufacturers like Optoma, BenQ and Epson would stop making Faux-K projectors and start making native 4K projectors.

dear reviewer, on HDR content you set contrast -9, thats correct if you do calibration, BUT,you loosing HDR visuals, set it at 0 ,at watch Midway again, you will be schoked what -9 seting killed HDR image pop and color. ps: i have almost 2 weeks N7 at home, best projector i owned .also had at home sony 570es(europe), and sony has better motion handling,black actualy are dark grey.and all is grey shades. and looks like computer graphincs. not real life, JVC made all my movies and tv'series more real, hiding computer graphincs in movies, and making experience more cinematic. so i choosed N7. HDR is awesome, sony by comparision is tragic, also JVC has some real black colors, sony did not, and that made me angry all the time i watched movies.

The attached photo is of the projector projecting onto my white closet doors. I still have not messed with the settings but I can't wait for our first family movie night on a larger scale. If you have issues with volume not working with your firestick, go into volume settings and you will find your solution there.
