Hey Sir, thanks for the troubleshooting. I followed exactly what you did. My Toshiba led TV had no power supply. Checked with multimeter and found out one of the diode fused. Cut it and manage to get the power to turn on the TV. Now I'm waiting for the heat sink to arrive from China.

I have an issue with a Toshiba LCD. One diode shorts. But it ONLY happens on stand by. If the TV is on it GOES smooth. If we go to stand by, arterial a while it dies. Any suggestion? Thank. Your videos are very helpfull.

vestel frame televisions covers about 80 percent of tv's these days most always fail on sb5100... an sb540 will replace without issue [I do it when short of 5100's]... this repair will cover toshiba, finlux teknika, walker and many more - very rare for it to be anything else ... I carry 5100 spares in stock... a 100 costs nothing on ebay...

Hi,i have a tv with the same power supply and the same board,exactly...but my tv don't power on,the front led is always blinking blue/orange and the screen is black.I already seen the fuse is good,the diods are the first 434,the 2nd 3th and 4th are 213.All capacitors are good,but tv won't start,the model is:LED ELECTRONIA LD22FHD,but the boards are exactly the same...Power supply VESTEL 17IPS61-3 and Board VESTEL 17MB55.Hope i can get a solution,thanks

You're an amazing technician. I never thought of removing a diode can fix a no power issue. Will it cause some problem on the other components on the long run without this diode? A new fan from the Philippines here.

Thank you. That diode its in short, thats the reason why i remove it. They use 2-3 diodes on parallel mode to cut the cost down, normal will be to be used only one, strong enough.

Instead of just blindly guessing and making more work for yourself, a better way is to connect your power supply with amps turned down to zero and put it across one of the diodes. Put your fingers on the diodes and slowly dial up the amperage until the bad one gets warm/hot. It doesn't matter what direction you put the power across, you cannot damage anything because there is a short; thus no voltage can develop. You won't have to waste any time resoldering good diodes.

Replacing those diodes is real cheap - instead of replacing a board - I hear all the time you just might as well buy a new TV - not the case at all - just have to know how to and the parts available to fix them
